I think that maybe you are right. I always thought that the diminutive of Rebecca was spelled "Becky," not "Beccy." So when I saw the spellling "Beccy" I assumed that it was a novel name. But maybe it is Rebecca as you suggest. I will try to find out when I am in Australia again.
