| So what does everyone reckon the dream team will look like this season?
I'll go with:
Hardaker
Makinson
Shenton
Moon
Carney
Brown/Burns
Smith? Would probably have been Walsh but he's been injured a fair bit. Sneyd has been good too, but to be honest there's a dirge of quality halfs in SL at the moment.
Hill
Clarke
Peacock
Ablett
Whitehead
Westerman

Hardaker won't be in it though because of the ban, so Bowen at FB.

| I'd bet that Hardaker has missed less games than Bowen has this season.
I think I'd have Escare over Bowan baced on this seasons form. I don't think he's a better player but he's had a better season overall.

It's not the missing of games, it's why. Similarly hard to pick Carney.

| Judging by what’s been on show this season, the “Dream Team” is looking a little average.
Those multiple combinations would struggle to beat The Sharkies .
From the ne’er-do-wells & mercenaries, to a smattering of class, albeit most at the wrong end of their careers, is this the best we can do?

| Anyone putting Moon in their dream team can barely have seen him play. What Leeds would give for a Keith Senior or a Brad Godden or a Craig Innes now. Hell, with Ryan Hall outside them anyone who can just sodding draw and pass! The CC semi was probably his best game but his poor service to the wingers makes him IMO the weakest element of the All Star Backline - of which, undoubtedly, Hardaker has had the best season, measured purely by on-field contribution.

Can't remember if he had a good game against you but he's been good and bad in equal measure, some awful games and can't get through a game without throwing stupid passes on the 1st tackle or in our own 20m. In my opinion he's been the weak link in our pack and the one I'm not disappointed to see leaving. I think he'll be luck to make our cup final team.

When a run of the mill Club standard player like Moon is named in several teams you have to wonder how high the standard is.
As you say these nominated Dream teams would be lucky to beat the bottom half of the NRL teams.

Second this! Cas have had a good season, but not even the all conquering saints 2006 team had that many in!
For me:
1. Bowen (Hardakers antics rule himself out, and I think Bowen is carrying Wigan at times this year)
2. Makinson (winger should score tries - this is what he does)
3. Shenton (good to see he rejuvenated the more the better)
4. Moon (the standout in the Leeds backline, which though it hasn't been as effective as it perhaps should, is a plaudits in itself)
5. J Monaghan (ditto makinson)
6. Brough (not hit the form he had last year, but still enough)
7. Walsh (which is sad, given how much time he's injured)
8. Peacock (even if sky go ott in their praise sometimes, he's still one of the best out there)
9. Roby (Clark has had a great season, but Roby is literally dragging this saints team over the line)
10. Hill (if Roby is carrying saints, hill is carrying Warrington)
11. Millington (had a great year simply, it's a shame he got injured)
12. Bateman (wasn't expecting much, but played beyond his years)
13. Westerman (SOL hasn't been as effective this year imo, and westerman has literally been the only good player for hull this year)

I really couldn't think of a second stand-out centre . . . . .
Both Hill and Huby have been outstanding this year, I couldn't split them.
From a club perspective, Gareth Ellis has been excellent for us this year, I'd like to think he wouldn't be far away from a place in the back-row.

Why? Roby is one of the few genuinely world class players still in Super League - he's had a "quiet year" relative to usual, yet still had a hand in 24 of saints tries (5 tries 19 assists) compared to 18 Clark has had, made 1063 tackles, missing 31 compared to Clarks 685 tackles and 31 misses and made 2612 metres compared to Clarks 2637 metres. He is our only senior playmaker left, and has single handedly carried us at times.
Clark has had a great year no doubt, but he's not head and shoulders above Roby to so arrogantly assume he automatically gets in ahead of Roby...
