Does anyone know if there are going to be any special deals for state of origin coverage? The premier sports one last year was a really good one.

Ive had stuff through the post saying that premier sports will again be showing state of origin. Im looking forward to the games quiet a bit this year.

Those are the teams and im afraid I can only see another Queensland win unless the partnership of Reynolds and Hodkinson for NSW tears up trees.

Not sure if there are special deals on. I'm subscribed to Premier Sports, just £7.99 a month, and cancelled my Sky Sports subscription at the end of last season.

I get way more for my money. They show most NRL games, atleast 5 a week,sometimes all 8, plus the Footy Show, NRL Full Time, Origin, and any other rep games that are on (AusvNZ, CityCountry and FijiSamoa). Pretty sure they have the 4 Nations too.

Throw in the fact that you don't have to put up with the likes of Stevo & Clarky commentating (bickering), and the games are generally a higher standard, it's a no-brainer.

Will most people be watching SoO live at 11 am UK time, or will most people record it and watch it after work?

I ask this question so as to know whether to discuss it or not on here before the late evening UK time. I don't want to spoil it for others.

I for one will be watching it at 11am due to being off work (the joy of school holidays)
and very much looking forward to it !

Firstly it's £9.99 a month and has been for quite a while now, (or do you know something I don't) ? and all eight games are played each week with the odd one or two on delay, barring this time of year (Soo) where the clubs get a break.

If you're lucky enough to subscribe through Virgin Media, it is £7.99. Sky ripping off customers as usual.

Whatever the cost, it was one hell of a game!

I bought a years subscription before the World Cup for £90 so I guess that's £7.50 a month.

what a game. when the players are playing at that intensity for 80 minutes it is no wonder Australia always beat us in the last 20 minutes.

thought QLD got a few baffling calls from the ref in the last ten minutes

Fantastic game, I think the loss of Cronk was a big blow for the Maroons, however they threw everything at the Blues in the 2nd half.

Without a doubt SOO are my favourite games of the season.

What game ! Those last 25 minutes were breath-taking and that was just watching !

I always barrack for Queensland because they have such an unquenchable spirit, never throw in the towel no matter what theodds. But it's not such a bad thing for NSW to finally win one with a chance of a first series win since 2005.

The only negative was the sight of Bob bloody Fulton in the Blues' coaching box - the very man who disparaged Origin and said it was all a 'waste of time' and 'would never work' back in 1980.

Queensland lost that game in the halves. First tactical kicking maestro Cooper Cronk was forced off with a broken arm. Second, Johnathan Thurston played probably the worst game of his career. Josh Reynolds played very well. However Hodkinson didn't.

Jarryd Hayne was at his brilliant best and a worthy Man of the Match.

JT will not play that badly again. The Maroons will be pumped up for revenge in the next game.

The Blues will be foolish not to find a place for currently suspended Greg Bird, the former Catalans captain, who is a tremendous SoO performer.

I expect Queensland will win in Sydney and then win the series.

I reckon that 3 of the tries would have been disallowed under the obstruction video ref rules in Super League.

Also Queensland have sam thaiday to come back as well which will add some more strength and sixe to their forward pack.

I don't think they would, because the dummy runners ran through a gap in the defensive line and so didn't actually obstruct any defenders. Unlike what often happens in SL where lazy dummy runners just run at the line regardless of where the gaps are and don't run all the way through.
