| So after all the signings by Salford, what impact do people think they will have next year?, where will they finish etc?
Also, bearing the above in mind, which two teams do you think will go?
I think Salford may do ok ish next season (you wouldnt expect miracles in one pre season) decent cup run to quarters / semis and possibly an 8th or 9th spot if they do well in league. I doubt they will be in bottom two anyway.
As for whos going, looking at recruitment, it looks like London are a pretty easy option. I think the other spot is between Cas and Wakey. Wakey have money problems but there is a hope they will sort things and they still have some decent hitters, whereas Cas have just lost their main man.
Thoughts?

| Cas have apparently 8 signings to be announced and they will be spending the full cap next season.
Since Millward left Cas have been one of the form teams in the league, that is down to coaching - Powell has done a great job and I expect that to continue.
The teams that will finish bottom 2 for me: London are a given then it depends on how Wakey come through the current money issues and who Widnes sign.

| Not exactly what you'd call eye catching really, Chase and Smith apart i wouldn't have any of them in our squad, not commented on the overseas players as i dont know anything about them.
I suppose they are an improvement on what they have now but can't see that lot making a challenge for the top 4 as he promised.

| They are easily capable with the new squad of making it to 5th or 6th place.
For a start their pack will be very aggressive with Hock and Morley in it.
They may have a few players who are getting on a bit, but that hasn't stop Warrington from winning trophys these last few years.
Half back pairing will arguably be the best in the league.
There is also quite a bit of threat in the centres with Meli and Gleeson probably being the starting pairing with Sau being an option centre if not picked in the back row.

Personally I cannot see Bradford being in the bottom two unless off-field matters overtake on-field. London look dead in the water already and any from Wakie, Cas, KR and Widnes.
At least there is something to play for in 2014 for everyone.

| How do you expect a team of crocks and passed their sell by date to go?
Add a few not NRL standard players on "easy" money and you have a team.
Hub cap, Challenge Cup and the laughable Grand Final Winners of course.
We shall see.

| I think they will be right up there. Think the top 5 will be pretty much as it is now, but with Salford, Saints, Catalans & Hull all closer to the top teams. Think KR & Cas will be behind them and Widnes, Wakey, Bradford and London struggling.

| I think Salford will be top 6. They have a pretty decent team formed. Everyones been focusing on the players, what about the coach. Noble got the Crusaders into the play-offs on a team with much less quality. I think he's done reasonably well this year, Salford have certainly become a much tougher team to beat since he took over.
For the two going down, i think London are unfortunately dead and buried. If they do go down i hope Sl clubs setup camp down there to set a path away for the London juniors, they have some decent players.
Hard to tell who the next person will be until all signings are done, but i genuinely fear for Widnes. I think Cas are much improved under Powell, give him a full season, i think they should be OK. They've lost Chase but they have one of the best backs in the league with Carney (Surprised Salford didn't try sign him tbh)
Wakeys finances could hurt them. Currently they have no half backs (I'd class Sykes as a supporting half back rather than a main creative half back)
Hard to tell early on but the above mentioned will be fighting it out IMHO

| Salford should go well. Making the eight is a good start.
Trinity have just made themselves a clear favourite to join London in the bottem two, but then that's when they've often surprised the critics and escaped relegation.

| Salford have 2 more 'massive' signings on the way according to Martin Gleeson. Depends who they are. I think they'll be in the 5 to 8 bracket.
London will be favourites to go down, Wakey and Bradford could be in the mix. I think Hull KR will struggle next year with the players they are loosing.
Plenty more signings to be announced from most teams yet though.

I often toyed with the idea of setting up a company and giving it the name as spelt out on my cars number plate....., seems somebody beat me to it.

If Kris Keating goes ok then we will be fine. Weyman and Costigan are great signings and add massively to our pack compared to this year. I predict 6th-8th again for us next year, maybe higher if the FC lift the gypsy injury curse they have put us on!

| Are any Salford fans not a little disappointed that the progress of Fages and Sneyd will be stunted by the signing of two leading half backs. These two seem to have gone quite well, with limited field position and momentum.
If you believe the rumours, Sneyd will be going to Cas, and I would back him to have a massive impact over there with Daryl.
I understand Chase and Smith are (in the Doc's words) box office, but what happens with these boys?

Not at all worried to be honest.I think most Salford fans would tell you that in reality there was too much on his shoulders this year. Some of the hits he has taken have been evil but he is one tough little bugger.Maybe with more experience he would have avoided some of those hits and the fact that he is still only 18 and now has 2 of the best halves around him to learn from can only be a good thing for his future development. He will still get plenty of game time covering for Smith and Chase and i have heard mention as an interchange hooker as well.
The future is very bright for young Theo.
Sneyd has also had a good season but at times has lacked consistency, especially with his kicking game. The lad is an undoubted talent and i for one would love him to stay with us but if rumours are to be believed he will be heading out on loan for next year.I would love to see him go to Cas because i think Powell is one of the best coaches around. If he gets a consistent run of games and with Powells coaching i really believe he could be a big player next year.
