Apparently the french club are convinced that decisions are deliberately going against them! around 500 fans walked out of the last home game due to video ref rulings.

There were 84,000 in Wembley in 2007 to see Saints vs Catalans. Admittedly they weren't all French fans, but there is no precedent for wanting Catalans away from finals.

They do have a point. I'm not convinced it's entirely bias as opposed to sheer incompetence, but the refereeing in Super League is absolutely horrific. It's one of the main factors holding the competition back, they really are incapable of doing the job. The referees are low calibre individuals who have no consistency, composure or judgement and the touch judges are a farce. They are fat or old or so young they quiver whenever the crowd make a noise. They contribute nothing and ignore blatant rulings because they are too scared to get involved.

The refereeing really wouldn't be any worse if you took the average joe off the street and asked them to do it.

They're not the only ones.

They have a long way to go before they have been shafted so many times in so many key games as Bradford have!

Anyway, about time they left and started a proper French SL

Try being a fan of Cas/Wakey/Salford then you'll know what it's like to be shafted by the refs on just about every 50/50 and quite a lot of the time, quite blatant wrong decisions.

It would be a shame to lose a team like Catalan Dragons. I do understand their frustration but their not the only team suffering from poor decisions from refs. It's like refs have grudges against some teams.

A few years back the Broncos went to the RFL with all sorts of data from several years worth of games and proved to them that they were consistently getting less calls than the northern teams. And it wasn't just a few decisions either, it was a considerable difference. The RFL looked at it all, agreed that London were getting diddled, and then did nothing about it. If I remember rightly Phil Clarke also did some digging into this and came to the same conclusion. Now we see that Catalans get the same treatment. Northern refs give decisions to northern teams, it's a fact.

On a more general point though, Stuart Cummings was an awful referee and ever since he took over the standard of officiating in this country has deteriorated.

It was not a voluntary tackle, he slipped.

If they genuinely believe that referees are conspiring to cheat them out of games, then the competition is better off without them.

Alibert was the ref on sunday so would be a bit pointless pointing out the fact that English refs have it in for them...

Every ref thread, every week poster bemoan X ref is the worst and Y ref is the best, the one week in which the said Y ref is in charge of their game they bring up all the misdemeanour's of Y ref and saying they're all rubbish.

In short no one thinks a ref is on their side everyone thinks they are for the other side.

Another point, if Catalan get to a final, they are everyone else's other team, the one they support in a neutral game.

If the Dragons played in this years final everyone bar the other teams supporters would back them and probably buy a ticket to watch them if they fancied a good game of RL.

One thing that should be done though is for the RFL to start training up more French Refs and eventually having a 70/30 split until more French teams are capable and able of competing in SL.

Simple fact is some teams get the 50/50 calls all the time

its nonsense. I have never watched any game, and thought the referee decided it. I've thought teams were unlucky but never that the ref decided it. I thought Les Catalans were very very unlucky in those decisions and i honestly cant see how they were made, they were clearly and unarguably wrong, but the game is 80minutes long, there's a lot of decisions made in a game. I can see why Les Catalans would be upset.

Saying that the refereeing standard in our game isnt where it should be, referees too often seem to be sent out with an instruction to 'let it slide in this one' or 'clamp down in this one', i dont think it is bias, just general poor refereeing and poor leadership for them at the top

If you lose 99 times out of 100 it's your own fault.

Wire had a few chalked off at Saints but we still won the game, you can't blame the ref for a lack of performance.

You want to see what Championship refs are like . Agree why dont they start up their own french S/L with toulouse et/al then bring back P/R So the likes of Fax , Fev and Leigh can have a shot in S/L.

Obviously we won't quit the Super League as Bernard Guasch said, unthinkable possibility. It is just a political speech to shake off this actual refeering problem. Our team is not as good as possible at the moment but some decisions like at Warrington and Saints games were inapprehensible (Millard and Blanch disallowed tries, and the "amaaaaaaaaaazing" forward pass on Meli's try).

Leave the Super League for this "Super French Championship" is the worst ever idea.

Fact is, refs will make mistakes......they are human....

The day we see all teams completing 100% and missing no tackles through an entire game, then maybe we could expect refs to not make any mistakes in games......it will never happen.

Without refs we wouldn't have a game....if all who regularly slag them off feel that strongly about it, then get off yer backside and get on a refs course and progress through the ranks and see if you can do better than the current lot are!

The RFL need to show a set and go to town on comments like these.....

We all feel hard done to from time to time and sometimes our teams are unlucky on occasions....it's been happening for the last 100 years though and will happen for the next 100.....FACT...!
