Barcelona dont get beat at Widnes

Wigan are no different from the dominant periods of the bulls, saints and leeds seasons ago. The games intensity was higher between 2002 to 2008, its the last 4 years the intensity has dropped off, Wigan and Warrington are the teams that have perhaps returned to something like the past standard.

Has the OP forgot there are better teams in the NRL than Wigan.

Which ones?

Sam Tomkins is untouchable. Cut and above the rest of Super League - no-one comes remotely close. The best fullback of the modern era.

This Wigan team are an awesome side but we're not the finished article yet. There's still plenty to improve upon. I expect us to hit peak form come the end of the season.

I just hope we finally get some decent opposition to play who will give us a game.

Fans of other clubs are going to realise that the period of Leeds/Saints/Bradford dominance was a golden era because they didn't have Wigan fans' hyperbolic crowing to deal with.

Didn't Barcelona get beat at home to newly promoted Hercules 2-0 last season? Hercules went on to be relegated.

With 19 Championships and 18 Challenge Cups you could perhaps argue Wigan are also the Real Madrid of RL too.

On current form, Wigan & Warrington are the only teams who would be consistently competitive in the NRL.

IMO.

Wigan look great, and at times are great to watch.
But, the quality of the league is significantly lower this year in my opinion.
It seems there are some very poor coached teams this year.

Lets hope someone can give Wigan a game come the end of the season.

I was just thinking last night, they remind me very much of how Wire were playing at the same time last year.

I remember Wire winning 42-6 at Headingley last year when Leeds were in a similar position to right now, and thinking 'can anyone stop them this year?' and look what happened.

Don't really believe in 'peaking too early', but I will certainly be interested to see if they can maintain this level of performance!
