Just out of interest, does anyone know when the RFL are announcing the second new Championship one team for 2013 as they were planning to announce one a month. Seems a while since Northampton were announced?

They were probably going to announce Bristol next but the bid has split over whether to play in Bristol or Gloucester. Why they don't prioritise a more established amateur side like Coventry Bears I don't know. They're keeping announcing Hemel til last in case they don't have a suitable ground in place I believe.

Thought medway were a shoe in?

I can't see how Hemel can have a stand built in time. Shame they can't share with Berkhamsted FC. Only 5 mins down the road, same borough, 2500 capacity. Or Hemel FC!

Championship 1 will be much weaker next year and if clubs like Coventry and Hemel don't get in Championship 1 it may well be back to local leagues.

I see Northampton Town football are bottom of the football league. How will it affect the viability of the new CC1 entry if they are relegated to non league football. Will it mean a problem with the cash avaiable for any rugby venture ?

If they look like dropping a league, it could make a new "tennant" even more important. Additional revenue streams and all that.
