| this saturday is a test to decide how the 2013 world cup will start going by what lewis said yesterday, personally id kick the world cup of with a double header at wembley involving england v austrlia and new zealand v france with the event announced with more then a year in advance good marketing lots of ticket offers ect then theres no reason why we cant get 60-70k maybe more. the final should be at old trafford saturday night under the floodlights very much like grand final night, i also hope we spread some games out and give places like coventry, bristol, northampton a game with good development been done there and potentailly champ 1 teams these places are doing the right things and hope they are rewarded.

If places like Bristol have applied, I imagine they'll get a game or two. I hope that they don't give all the best games to non RL areas though

| hopefully over the next couple of mounths we can announce a double heeader at wembley to kick the world cup of with england v the aussie and kiwis taking on the french with the rest of the hosting cities and venues. for this game we could get 60-70k i reckon with good ticket prices and good promotion and marketing. final at old trafford and the semis at brammel lane and elland road. quarters at kc, dw, saints nw ground and possibly a place like bristol but its rumoured the mellenium stadium will host a quater and could avignon be an option given the recent crowds?.

I like all of that apart from Avignion. It's the England & Wales World Cup not the European World Cup

| I do wish France had been given their group games at home though, three guarenteed sell out gates without hardly any marketing money having to be put into it. Maybe even a quarter final too.

I don't agree. If we want to be a strong international sport we have to prove we can get good crowds for our premier competition wherever the location. To have games as far apart as Cumbria and Perpignan would look silly in my opinion. As long as clubs are involved in selling tickets and the fixtures are confirmed in plenty of time then we have a great chance to pull in the speccies.
The RFL need to offer incentives to clubs from amateur to Super League for selling tickets. At Championship and SL leverl that could be points towards a SL licence and at amateur and conference level it could mean equipment and grants to be put towards refurbishing clubhouses, transport etc.

Leeds to Avignon is less than Sydney to Brisbane. There's a lot to be said for France playing a game or two at home. It's not like there's going to be a massive travelling contingent from Samoa or PNG. Love the idea of France v Nz and England-Oz at Wembley to open. I thought the double-header was a rip-roaring success. Massively impressed with how many southerners (especially ex students) went to the game under their own steam... I was with one of two parties from Exeter Uni, but there were another three or four alumni groups who organised their own trips. And the banter in the crowd between Brunel Uni and South London Storm was cracking.

That's good to hear. I would have thought Ashton Gate would have been a better choice than the Memorial Stadium, but good to see Bristol getting some games. Bit disappointed at no Cardiff City stadium though, would have been good for a QTR Final.
