Thought the Beeb did very well with their coverage yesterday.

Good commentary from Dave Woods and John Kear, good presenter in Tony and good work by the touchline team. It's nice to see some enthusiasm back in RL.

The features at the start of the show were decent too.

Chappers, wasn't it? Bit of a contrast from Steve Rider's 'here because I have to be' approach.

Thought the images of the players for the starting line-up graphics was very shoddy. Looked like they were blown-up from a mobile phone image. Which is just lazy, as all Clubs have decent high-res piccies of players on their websites.

Apart from that, pretty good, and thankfully no Ray French to reduce us all to Flat-cap wearing, whippet walking Northern scum.

I thought that that was the best BBC coverage of RL I've seen for a long time. A huge amount of enthusiasm from presenters, commentators, and analysts; what sounded like a great atmosphere in a clearly full (or so near as didn't matter) stadium; and a game that was as entertaining to watch as the pre-match TV promotion was absent.

I really dont like Dave Woods, he has that dull smashie and nicey radio 1 dj voice!

BBC coverage yesterday was superb. Sadly today we have these two clowns in the commentry box today.

It was OK, but sadly now I'm back to Frenchie this afternoon.

Am I the only one that feels the BBC hardly ever put on what sub's are coming on?
I saw two for Hull today, but I haven't noticed who else.

- Putting Halifax out in the last round (close, it was Harlequins)

- £250K for Westerman

- Alan Agar instead of Richard Agar (AA is RA's dad)

- Words to the effect of "Leeds kicking off with that traditional deep kick off ... And Hull in their traditional black & white kit"

- Former East Hull Junior

- Former Leeds Acadamey Player

- Brett Deleany as 'this fifteen stone ...'

And at least one "Oh, but no ..."

The BBC needs a kick up the backside.

I watched the news at 6.00pm and no mention of the CC games whatsoever,bloody useless.

Only gripe from me was the frequent breaking away from the live action to an irrelevant shot of one of the coaches and the obsession with Roy Keane.

does anyone know if there will be any highlights of the non televised games?

Genuinely shows how utterly useless Hemmings and Stevo really are.Surely Sky must see the benefit of separating the presenters studio role,from that of commentator and having two experts in the studio with just one analyst doing the commentary,rather than having four people in the commentary box,each trying to justify their presence.

Or at 10pm. It was the one sport they had the rights to show, and which had earlier been on the BBC apart from the GP (which of course they lead with). Then we had Cricket (pictures from Sky), Scottish Football (pictures from ESPN), Cycling (pictures from Eurosport) and then Boxing from nearly 24 hours previous (pictures from an obscure US TV Channel), before signing off with a brief mention about swimming (no pictures). Another triumph from the BBC. There's your licence fee at work!

I hate to break this to you, but all of those events will have had a much wider public interest than the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup.

The BBC are simply showing what they think is going to appeal to the widest possible audience within the time constraints of their sports bulletins.

Commentary team were miles better than sky but Claire Baldwin should have been in the studio.

i thought it was a good improvement from the beeb, but RF surely has had his day now. leaguie legend, but its time to put him in the studio as "expert" at the very best. he should not be commentating this now, the beeb have many more better in their ranks on the radio

Really? More people in the UK are interested in knowing which rider won the Tour de France than the Challenge Cup Semi Finals?

Well, this forum is all about opinions and you are entitled to yours but mine is that there are many Rugby League fans around the country who will have seen the games this weekend and the names will come easy to them (particularly on the streets of the hotbeds of our game)

Whereas I have been following the Tour closely this year with Cavendish doing so well and securing the Green jersey and I couldn’t remember the winners name

I really do think we underestimate our games appeal sometimes
