Ridiculous that the HQ of the game nationally is still literally in the middle of no where!

Red Hall should be sold (would make a tidy sum) and the RFL should move lock stock to Media City. There is plenty of office space there and they would be right in the heart of it. There is and will be more media companies than the BBC based there.

Where recently a community of travelling friends habited for a few weeks. Unconfirmed rumour was that Sean Long was part of said community.

They have 2 bases in Leeds, the HQ at Red Hall and the match officials dept at Leeds Met Uni

We did have a brief (two week?) period in the 90s when Super League Europe had an office in London fronted by Colin Myler - good Widnes boy and until last week (clean) Editor of the News of the World. I think he was too independent minded (of course they should have known that when they recruited him) and too far away for the control freak tendency at Red Hall.

Yeah, I was told that the media dept was moving from Red Hall to Media City too. This was a year ago, have plans changed?

And? It's about half an hour from Leeds.

I wouldn't want to take the train, too unreliable and quite frankly a pain. I wouldn't want to spend an hour and half (if I'm lucky) in the car in peak time traffic. That said, there's plenty that do commute I guess.

The RFL should have a big purpose built office by the centre of Huddersfield! Failing that, some sy office space that's going begging in the centre of Leeds / Manchester or at MediaCity.

I used to commute from Brighouse to South Manchester and that used to take an hour and a half. Tough luck if they don't want to commute IMO, it's not that far!

I think it's mainly due to employees living in Leeds. I think a lot of the RFL staff contracts are up in 2013 so maybe they will fire some off and move to Media City. Probably not though

Trains every 1/2 hour between Leeds and Manchester!!!

I work in Leeds.

Most of the employees don't live in Leeds, in fact quite a lot commute a further distance than betwen Leeds and Manchester.

I suppose it depends upon personal circumstances where you are prepared work and what you are prepared to do to keep in employment.

Incorporate them in a shared Cas/wakey/Fev ground in the Normanton triangle

Oh and I wouldn't want to commute to Manchester 5days a week unless there was some significant salary increases.
