I've been seeing a lot more of this recently.

Player gets tackled. Gets up and moves 3 feet forward and plays the ball. That needs sorting too.

There's 101 things that players do now at the play of the ball. I noticed one team t'other week, if the tackler got up before the ball carrier, he'd raise himself by putting one foot as far forward as they could so their knee was in contact with the ball player and would lean into them as they stood up. Doesn't sound like much, but when our player was playing the ball, he was virtuallly falling backwards into the dummy half.

Why do the quotes always mess up when you reply to something? I can't even see what you've done wrong in the code?

Saddened's campaign agains Tomkins makes his opinions on the matter a lot weaker, but I have to say that Tomkins is excellent at that trick.

Been thinking this a lot the past few weeks it's getting ridiculous! Either get the penalty or good move around the ruck.

2 games stood out, Halifax vs Fev NRC semi I don't think Fax played it from the mark once after the first half! Also Wire vs Hudds last week! Carvell crawls about 3 yards before playing it ever time gets markers back peddling and Monoghan can shoot out.

Don't neccesairily blame players but ref's NEED to stamp it out quick. All part of this daft quick PTB obsession we have over here to an extent!

I thought that was what he did to Kevin Sinfield twice the other year conning the ref in to giving Wigan penalties by suggesting Sinfield wasn't letting him get up when in fact he was holding Sinfield's jersey.

I'm trying to remember the last time a thread on the VT didn't descend into a Tomkins-bashing session. It'd be funny if it didn't scupper any chance of having a decent discussion about things. I think this has been an issue for quite a while. Players used to get pinged quite often for moving off the mark but it's been a long time since that happened. I think Leeds scored against Catalans from such an incident yesterday. Can't remember who the culprit was but they crawled forward whilst on the floor and into the tackler, giving them no chance to clear the ruck, yet the tackler is penalised for it. It's a rule that needs to be enforced properly

Maybe when you're on your phone you have the square ticked that says 'disable BBCode' in the reply (this is in the list above where it says preview, submit, save, cancel.
If this is ticked then any code that you have, like the quote, won't work.

SL needs to sort out a lot of issues around the PTB - commentators here often joke about SL players not needing to face the opposition line when playing the ball. The sorts of things you can get away with in SL will be absolutely caned by an Aussie ref.

As much as I find that little grub Tomkin annoying, Lee Smith is the main offender in the league for moving off the mark. So we can leave the lad alone in this thread.

One of my major rants at games it that it is always the defending side that gets penalised for play of the ball infringements. An attacking player can riggle, clamp arms, throw out arms, elbows, legs and still not give away a penalty. Infact by doing one or all of these things he is more likely to recieve one. I just get the feeling that some referees call held count to three and blow the whistle. There is no evidence that any thought is even given to who is actually at fault.
