Hornets V Workington charity event
Rochdale Hornets are aiming to break the record crowd for a Championship 1 Rugby League game and on the 10th July we are playing Workington Town; we are aiming for a crowd of 10,000 here at Spotland. The tickets are now on sale here in the main office, so don't delay and come and get your tickets! The prices are £5 for Adults and £3 for Concessions. The Co-op charity that they are supporting this year is MENCAP. As a result of this game we will be making a donation to MENCAP from the tickets sold for the game.
Tickets are available from the Hornets office.
If any rugby league fans have nothing to do on Sunday,if your team as no game get down to Spotland @ £5.00 adults and £3.00 concessions its great value to watch two teams who are going all out for promotion in the previous two matches each has been won in the final seconds.

That 4744 was the season average though in the 2nd division, lowest gate was around 3100. So my 3 x 3100 still stands as inferior than Rochdales objective of 10 000 for the one game.
Saints average gate will probably be around 7500 I should imagine, which is not bad for an away following.

Your lowest gate for a SL game this season - 6,050 v Quins. Just over half of Rochdale's objective of 10,000.  |

That's poor for a team in the top four it's Not exactly 50 miles away from your old ground more like 8-10 which I find pathetic for a team that is one of super leagues best |

No such thing as 'too high'. I'd say Hornets would be pretty pleased with anything above 1,500 though, which is a shame considering I've been there with close to 3,000 on when playing Leigh and Oldham. |

We are currently averaging around the 500 mark so if we take that as or bench mark.
Targets:-
500+ beats our current average
1000 doubles current average
1400 beats our best crowd since we reformed
3200 sets new Championship 1 record
4500 sets new NL RECORD
8200 best crowd we have ever had at Spotland any division
9500 record crowd for a league game outside of Super League
10200 CAPACITY!
How far down this list remains to be seen, but the choice is, we sit there and wonder or we can have a go. We`ve chosen to have a go.
Hopefully RL supporters will get down to Spotland and help tick a few of the targets off the list!

Att 1021 double what we normally get,thanks to the workington fans and any one else who turned up.No we didnt set any records but the club had ago and doubled what we normally get and made some money for a worth while charity.Those who did turn up saw a great performance from the Hornets in the first half and hopefully some will return for our next home match against Oldham.
