| The main thing to come out of that game is that McNamara should not have this job at all. It's a joke he wasn't good enough for bradford so shouldn't be good enough for England.
Thought sinfield tried hard but isn't a stand off at that level. Myler was pretty much none existent. Though wilkin, briscoe, Westwood all had good games along with a few others but with no direction from the halves we struggled to look like scoring at all.

| McNamara swore whilst being interviewed aparently, so much so that Eddie had to apologise. I didn't quite catch what he said and it wouldn't let me rewind it as it wouldn't work on the interactive version.
Does anyone know what he said?

| Mcnamara is going to have to make some big decisions come the end of the year.
Peacock shouldnt even be in the team let alone captain.

Not that I'm a big fan of his but I think mr senior on his twitter account twitter.com/#!/KeithSenior4
Exiles more dangerous in attack and defence, been together a week You work it out
Now I know he's probably a bit biased after playing under the exiles coach but the fact that they've never played together and turned out to be pretty well organised as opposed to England, the majority of the players have been on tours together looked pretty clueless............

| Macnamara needs help from a coach that knows how to lift players and knows how to strategise.
If Macca got the exiles game under way then top marks to him. He just needs to learn how to coach now.

| Just watched it this morning, one thing that is apparant is it was a far better test than hammering France. It highlights problems England have more too.
Wish i'd gone to that rather than twenty20.

| I think it would be proactive of the RFL to announce shortly that next years game will be played at the new Salford Stadium.I would also like the RFL to ensure that every Super League Club provides Match Day coach transport for supporters wishing to travel,at cost price i.e. no excuses for anybody not being able to attend. If supporters don't take up the option so be it,but Clubs should offer the oppourtunity.

| I'd like it to be at Saints new ground, gives everyone a chance to go and see it.
On the game, I think England would have been far more dangerous in attack with Brough and Roby playing.

| I don't really mind whether its at Saints new ground or Salfords, although I have a slight preference for Salford - more central - I just firmly believe that an early statement, with a specific date would help.Equally,I'm sure at least a couple of thousand could be added to the gate,by requiring all Clubs to run coaches to the game.If all Clubs ran just 2 coaches, that would add a thousand and people wouldn't have an excuse not to go - apart from MadDogg who would claim its kicking off 15 mins too late and will therefore be a disaster.

| Firstly, it was great tight and interesting game...this is the level that England will compete in at the end of the season, so as far as whether the Exiles concept should continue again....without a doubt yes! I hope interest builds now and in the next few seasons it can develop into a 3 match series.
Secondly, it was a good thing that the Exiles won and that it was close....it means that future matches will attract a bigger audience and it gives the match credibility. Plus England will learn more in that close lose on the hooter than winning by 20 points.
I also think that (and sorry for any Wales fans) the Exiles would be a better inclusion in the Four Nations. England, Australia, New Zealand and the Exiles would create constant competitive games, plus it would give the Exiles more time and publicity for future events. Bar Tommy Leulaui none of the others play for Aus or NZ, so it could work.....although it would slow the progress of other nations international teams development.
England just need to focus on playing form players in their best positions, sick of seeing Sinfield shifted into No.6 over proper standoffs...not to mention, what the hell was Peacock in that team for? Crabtree is playing far better....Peacock isn't even fully match fit!! Plus Shenton had a poor game, plenty more better form centres in SL right now....some of the selections were just odd.
Still, overall...very good event from the marketing point all the way to the match itself....crowd were so quiet it drained some of the atmosphere..but overall defo worth keeping this match in the rugby league season going forward. Well done RFL.

| It's at times like this that I regret the fact rlfans banned The Glorious League Freak.
He would have said stuff on here that everybody agrees with, and had them arguing with him that no actually England are a great side, and he's just a little Aussie brat.

| Whenever British international rugby league comes up I always think of the RFL at it's worse in being clueless and amateurish. As many fans have said before not enough young players coming through, British coaches that stop at championship level.
We always end up with a team with players out of position and for some reason very rarely step up from the super league standard. Super league is the RFL's be all and end all, it's as though they are working under the constraints of SKY.

| I thought it was a useful game for the England team and as a concept it worked well. What was important about the game is that it was reffed very similarly to internationals – i.e. a lot of latitude at the ruck so slower play the balls and teams having to engineer breaks rather than get a ‘roll on’ – that lesson will serve us well come the 4 Nations
People are saying that Bridge and Shenton were quiet but for me that comes from the half backs not being at all dominant – Sinfield toiled hard but was ineffective and Myler showed he is a year or two away from this level (if he ever gets there)
In the 4 Nations, we should have a combination of Brough, Lomax and Widdop – at they offer something new and exciting at international level

The only one I can think of is Soliola playing on the wing in parts. Though arguably you could also say T. Leuluai.

Don't think they did but for that matter, most of the England team were in their correct positions, except for and crucially this, Sinfield. Felt sorry for him as it should have been Brown or even Briers at 6.

| Just looking at the player balance
Wigan 4 England 3 Exiles - 7 players
Wire 5 England 2 Exiles - 7 players
Saints 3 England 3 Exiles - 6 players
Leeds 3 England 2 Exiles - 5 players
Hull 1 England 3 Exiles - 4 players
Hudds 1 England 2 Exiles - 3 players
Cas 1 Exile - 1 player
Wakey 1 Exile - 1 player (and brought in last minute)
I think they need to address the balance so fans of all teams can have a feeling of being involved.
No representation at all from Bradford, Hull KR, Quins, Salford,Catalans or Crusaders.
That rules out nearly 50% of fans.
Maybe have to look at how the Exiles squad is picked, without diluting it too much player quality wise

| There were some very encouraging signs from certain individuals in that game. In Luke Robinson and James Roby I think we have two excellent hookers - for the first time in years. Add Brough, Widdop, Ellis and Burgess to that team and we have the makings of a good squad. Westwood was excellent and I thought Kevin Sinfield's kicking game was awesome. I'm a huge Sean O'loughlin fan, but I don't think his game is suited to the international scene or the way we currently play. Having an extra kicking option in Sinfield might be the way to go. The props need shaping up a bit. Jamie Peacock is past it now. Eorl Crabtree should be given a shot. Morley, Graham, Crabtree and Burgess would be my front row. Westwood, Ellis and Tomkins in the back row.
In the backs Sam Tomkins put in some excellent tackles close to the line. He's the best English fullback in the competition. Tom Briscoe and Ryan Hall dealt with the kicks put to them well I thought. Both will keep their places. Chris Bridge and Michael Shenton? I thought Shenton looked exposed a few times. Chris Bridge didn't do an awful lot for me, but what options do we have? Kirk Yeaman is playing well I suppose. Kris Welham is doing well, but misses a lot of tackles. Leroy Cudjoe and Michael Lawrence? It's one area we really struggle with. Centre I have no answer.
We're a team though that needs all our best players to be fit to stand a chance. Not likely to happen, but we can hope. If everyone was fit I would lineup with:
1. Sam Tomkins
2. Tom Briscoe
3. 'Anyone that can defend'
4. Chris Bridge?
5. Ryan Hall
6. Gareth Widdop
7. Danny Brough
8. Adrian Morley
9. James Roby
10. James Graham (c)
11. Gareth Ellis
12. Ben Westwood
13. Kevin Sinfield
-----------------------------
14. Luke Robinson
15. Sam Burgess
16. Eorl Crabtree
17. Joel Tomkins (possibly Gareth Hock?)

| Macnamara is way out of his depth, but, I think we'll struggle to get a good England coach as long as it's seen as a full time job. I'm not convinced the international coach needs to be full time, what does he do day to day?
Don't know if it would work to try and get one of the better coaches working with them part time and leave macnamara full time in a more scouting and co-ordinating role, but knowing the part timer would be the man in charge when it comes to coaching and selection.
I do think they should try at least a 2 game series next year, I think it could turn out to be very popular with players and supporters.
