Well as we all know the licences are changing again this year. So we will definitely have at least one Championship team joining us due to an RFL rule.

It's odds on to be Widnes or Halifax. But will the RFL get rid of a team or more or will they simply just expand the league.

If they were to expand it, it would be likely for it to go to 16 teams so the Magic Weekend would still work and so there are no byes.

Personally I think they should get rid of a team and promote another. Because if you add another team or 2 then you end up with 28 or 30 games per season. If they are to expand the league then surely 16 teams should be the limit. Otherwise we are going to have wide score ranges with top of the table teams beating the bottom by 60 odd points. Not to mention the large amount of games that would have to be fit into the tight schedule we have already.

But what do you guys think should happen?

Crusaders and Quins out. Halifax and Widnes in.

Warrington out, they've had long enough.

I'd be tempted to leave Crusaders in for now and just get rid of Harlequins.

I'd like to see Widnes in to replace them.

Cas is just a small town in the suburbs of the City of Wakefield, they have token planning permission pending but no money to build a stadium, the only juniors they have are cast off from Wakefields Academy (Westerman, Owen, Milner etc..), they're not a traditional club having only been around for a few decades as compared with the mighty Trinity who've been around for almost a century and a half.

Think it's time Quins left. There attendences are poor and can't see rugby league successful in London. Maybe if both London clubs merged it might stand the teeniest tinyest chance. Oh and fax in please so the giants can have a proper derby.

It was announced a few months ago, last autumn, that the clubs who make up SLE had voted to keep the comp at 14, knowing that that would include one current Championship club.

I doubt we'll ever know the answer, but it would still be imteresting to know how Cas, Wakey, Salford and other Cat C licence clubs voted ...

For better or worse, anything other than Widnes in, Wakefield out would currently be a surprise. Halifax coming up [uas well[/u is the only variation on this theme that I can imagine. We find out in a month, don't we - about the promoted club(s) at least? If they announce 2 the boards will go in to meltdown!

Not quite: we find out in a month or so about the club which gets the one guaranteed licence for a championship club. The other applicants (the current 14 SL clubs and the other championship clubs which have submitted applications) will then find out who's got the 13 remaining places in June.

You are aware that Toulouse a) haven't applied and b) don't qualify to apply?
