Just watched a clip on a popular video sharing website of a Wigan v Saints game from 1995 where Henry Paul scored directly off an Andy Farrell drop-out. This along with plays like Wide to West seem to only come off rarely but are amazing when they do eh. Any other good ones people remember?

I seem to remember Willie Poaching scoring from an Adrian Vowles drop goal at Warrington - more luck than anything else (and, from a Leeds perspective, certainly overshadowed by Jordan Tansey's try at Millennium Magic).

Other than that, Ali Lauitiiti's finish by the corner flag against Wigan takes some beating for me.

2008 GF manly and storm, brett stewart running 100 miles an hour gave one of the best back flip passes ever seen after being tackled.

Duanne Mann did one too I seem to remember for St Helens. Picked up the ball at AHB a few yards from the goal line and headed it over for somebody else to score, rule was changed shortly afterwards I think.

Ones that have been mentioned, the Sammut try is the best for mine, with him almost knocking it on. Also, the Tansey try at MM was very fortunate for Leeds, looked as though it would never work.

I think passes in the in goal area, although there have been a lot of examples of it, it's a huge risk to take, especially if the other player isn't aware. If it comes off then they can easily get out of the in goal area but I personally wouldn't try it!

I can remember a Keighley player making as if to set up for a penalty, talking to the ref who nodded, then suddenly sprinting through the static defensive line. He touched down without even a finger laid on him.



Paul Ashton once scored a penalty from a back heeled kick in front of the posts. (he got a real rollocking after the game).

Remember when Rovers won the Second Division in 1996 they would often get the ball out the scrum on the first tackle and kick downfield straightaway. At the time Stanley Gene (in his debut season) was fast-as-hell for a scrum-half so it often resulted in him getting to it first for a great try.
