Perversely, depending on who ends up taking over the club, this action could mean the club have a much better chance of getting a new license than if admin was staved off.

Crusaders got less than the maximum deduction because the new company made plans to pay off some of the debt. I've no doubt the size of any Wakefield deduction will be calculated similarly

Not exactly. They went into admin owing the RFL £700k and the new company had to put arrangements in place to repay it.

Above anything else, it's a real shame that a club like Wakefield, a traditional club, should go into adminstration.

Something needs to be looked at internally as they have the same funding as everyone else, similar crowds to Salford, Quins, yet still end up in this trouble.

maybe the first dominoe to fall but not the last? As said they have no worse crowds than some other teams, seem to have sponsors like other teams, have the same grant as other teams and operate under the same salary cap as other teams.

Another note is, the Wakey fans are getting excited about the prospect of a millionaire taking over the club, yet none of them have taken into account the fact that what if he wants to run the club like a proper business and make them SELF SUFFICIENT first, you don't become a multi-millionaire by pumping money you'll never see again into sporting ventures, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him operating with a smaller/cheaper squad until the club can run at a level where they can run without costing him money.

Reality is RL clubs in England have two main sources of income that is variable: fans through gate and corporate support. Wakey need a decent stadium if they care going to alter either.

As tb pointed out, the points deduction is dependent on several factors. Crusaders were handed -6 because they carried over some of the debt to the new business whereas those you mentioned shed all debts and were therefore handed a stiffer points deduction.

I hope do you do get one and very soon, I have no issues with GH and Cas but as yet it is nothing more than Newmarket (albeit reserved matters and therefore planning being a shoe-in for GH)... a site!

That was quick and I didn't realise they had been rich enough to buy out the builders of the stadium, the land owners and payback any loans (probably backed by the land) to WMDC.
