It doesn't really though, does it dally?
This is just one incident of something going right. It doesn't really show anything on it's own. All you're going to achieve by starting a thread like this is getting a bunch of anti-RFL people to reply with tonnes of incidents were the RFL have screwed up instead of getting the replies this kind of event deserves: a congratulations and excitement that the game is growing in Wales.
But whatever makes you feel better.

| Good to see as a start, A Jnr league and a schools league would be next steps!
In fact if the Crusaders hadn't had such financial strife the RFL could have been using its money to get kids interested in the game, get some RFL development officers employed there, get 100 kids signed up to form a jnr league and convinced 6 schools to take up the game by offering them coaching and equipment.

Last time I checked, very many areas with no SL team had youth teams.
Also 700k would have paid for the start-up of a lot of community sides. In terms of value for money, it would almost have been better to give 700 rugby union players £1k each if they agree to play 5 games of RL.
Crusaders' future is very much in the balance and I'm afraid that it doesn't look particularly good.

There is another side setting up in Flintshire and Chester Gladiators had a youth side (until the Midlands Junior League became "Midlands only"icon_wink.gif, Warrington had a Cheshire Cats side drawn from non-RL parts of Cheshire playing in the Midlands league as well.
A Cheshire / North East Wales junior might work.

all the developments in wales have been influenced / affected / caused by the existance of celtic crusaders / wrexham crusaders
many people said it was a laughing stock the RFL ensuring the club continued on, i disagreed
the developments in wales suggest what the RFL has done were indeed the best course of actio
this is why expansion teams are important

No, they aren't. As I suggested before, more could have been done simply by paying people to give rugby league a go.
The RFL have given Crusaders a great deal of money and if you are suggesting that one junior club justifies the whole thing then you are bonkers.

Whilst id agree with most of your post I can't agree with this bit. A SL club in Wales is a figurehead and provides a pathway (along with the Scorpions) right from junior level up to the top level of rugby league. That is vitally important in enticing young players to the game and the development would be significantly diminished without a Super League presence for youngsters to aspire to.

Fair do's , however I'd have suggested a well funded stable Championship/NL club with long term aims would have achieved much the same without as much cost and negative press

Fair enough, a legitimate point that I'd probably agree with for the most part.

crusaders future is important for the game
the positive spin offs with having a SL team in wales have been massive, probably worth 3 or more heartland SL clubs
if they go international competition will weaken, youll lose potential viewing numebrs in wales plus the junior development will slow down
putting RL in new areas is a tough job but the rewards can be massive

speaking to someone high up in the crusaders ranks previously he advised me that much of the development work which has occurred in wales wouldnt have happened without the establishment of the crusaders in SL.

having a professional club to play for on top of the pyramid of junior and amateur clubs is essential
without a SL team where would the welsh juniors go, to an english club
a SL club is the pinnacle of the game, something that not only helps develop the sport, but gives the juniors something to aspire too

what negative press? a couple of stories blown out of proportion on internet forums with champ. clubs with an axe to grind.
