Pretty unfair that. The Warrington forwards won the final not Briers. He just got to exploit the brilliant go forward his forwards gave him.

Also is McGuire better than Eastmond? You seem to have contradicted yourself on that one.

I have yet to see Tomkins or Eastmond put anything like a performance like McGuire can do at his best. They make some exceptional plays, but cannot change the game like McGuire can imo.

Personally, I can see how Tomkin's can change a game.
We've seen it when he was at playing away against Quins, when the game was tight early on his performance from Fullback, and then coming into the halves also changed the game completely.

I changed my mind i think he is better than Eastmond, Briers kicking game is what changed the game when Leeds had a good amount of possession in the early stages.

I wouldn't mind seeing Tomkins and McGuire given a go in the halves for England.

Tomkins, Briers, Eastmond, Chase, Witt and Holdsworth are better halfbacks, but ok

Tell ya what something amazing must be going on at Leeds. We apparently have a shiite coach, crap halfbacks and satan playing in the forwards for us but we have some how managed to wrap up 3 SL titles in a row. All I can say is

McGuire is in great form. Could be an option to have him and Eastmond in the halves with Tomkins at FB for England?

He's a quality broken play runner and a deadly backup player. He isn't a player who can control a game or add anything at international level.

Leon Pryce is a better all round player, a lot better. Tomkins is as dangerous a runner and is better in the other aspects of the game. Eastmond is a player with the potential to be truly special but it remains to be seen if he gets there.

McGuire is certainly England's number 6 this Autumn.

I don't think he's the best, but it's probabaly to difficult to say who is, he's up there and anybody who says that a player is 'miles' better than him etc. would be stupid to say so. I wouldn't swap tomkins for him and saints wouldn't swap eastmond for him, it's good to have so many options for England.

It's the same on here. Wigan, Saints and Leeds fans will all support their candidate but hey, at least we can celebrate a bit of English talent. Other clubs are no where near producing a Tomkins, Eastmond or McGuire.
