your dreaming again Dally, NRL is so far behind AFL on fanbase and income its not funny. Maybe in another 10-15 years we may pass them IF the new IC actually works.

On a positive note in the shopping mall today I counted 5 NRL jerseys, 2 SOO tshirts and no AFL tops. And that is in AFL mad land. All we need now is a team!

I don't understand your point... I just read the article and its main point is that AFL fans are unaware of the spectacle of NRL and that NRL stars deserve a much higher national profile than they enjoy now? How is that a lesson to SL... that's the position we eternally find ourselves in!

The fan bases are around the same, it's just that RL fans in NSW and QLD have a lot further to travel than those in Vic, WA and SA, the regional fans in RL states can't get to games on Friday night, Monday nights, the AFL teams are all in the capitals, they have 1 regional team in Geelong that is about 30 mins away from Melbourne.

We play 2 day games a week of NRL, how are fans supposed to travel for hours to see their teams with their young families and get home at a reasonable time?

Do you ever think of the bigger picture?

You can't compare it on crowds, but you can compare it on TV ratings and RL wins.

I had a go at a guy who is always running the NRL down and comparing it to AFL without putting the whole picture in simply because his city hasn't got a team, he needs to wake up and realise WHY his city doesn't have a team and actually do something/anything he can to help get a team back.

It gets pretty boring reading every one of his posts complaining everyday about the same damn thing.

Hinds talks rubbish.

But he is fearful as an AFL-er.
