How he is not in the England squad is beyond me. He was MOM easily on Sunday ( Westerman has great potential but was miles behind Wild) BUT has been playing like that ALL SEASON.

Decent player, but I wouldn't pick him against an Aussie or Kiwi international side. Westerman doesn't seem to be making the same impact this season, maybe down to injuries, but at this stage he's still probably the best long-term prospect we've got at loose forward.

He got a chance a few years back and just missed out then seemed to be forgotten.
Giants are getting more fashionable for good players to be seen so might now get his chance.

If he was Leeds or Wigan he'd have been in ages ago.

He got selected for GB when he was at Wigan, but his form dipped the season after his selection.

Joe is only 19 and will get better.

If all the British players were Aussies, Wild (along with Ellis) would probably have the best chance out of any of them of getting in the Australia team.

Wild has been picked a couple of times recently, but withdrew himself due to his Mrs being pregnant I believe

Either way he must be about the most under-rated back rower in the game.

30+ tackles a game, tons of pace, good ball handler, huge fitness and complete commitment.

You don't know anything about Wild then. He makes match winning plays on a regular basis, both in attack and defence. He does things no other player could do, from scoring length of the field tries to chasing down wingers to setting Matt Gardner up for a hat trick. Just yesterday, he saved the game for Huddersfield with a defensive play to stop a certain try and then came up with a crucial score himself, and he does this kind of thing virtually every match. He is one of the fittest, fastest and most athletic forwards in Super League, and he regularly makes 30+ tackles a game. One of the main reasons Huddersfield were poor last year was because Stephen Wild was injured. He is one of the most underrated and dynamic players in the league, and if you 'rofl'd' then you really have no idea.

Funny you should say that, because I watched him at Wigan for 3 or 4 years. He was an average plodder then, and still is. To say he's the best positioned British player to get in the Australian team is quite frankly ludicrous.

I think he's a decent player, wouldn't object one bit to seeing him at Quins, but I just don't think he adds a great deal to an England/GB line up (although there's nothing contentious about him contesting a squad place). But I do find the idea of him being Aussie international standard rather funny.

l think it is probably safe to say the Wild is not as bad as some of the posters have made out, nor neither is he quite as good as others make out!

He's a fringe England player, that's it.

However, with him being a Wiganer I'd love him to be as good as you think he is.

Totally different style of player, and I would rather have Wild.

Even the most biased pie-eater would admit O'loughlin is made to look good in a poor team.

Ah, so that's the reason why he's playing so well.

Personally, I'd take Purdham over Wild any day.

How can you make a player look good in a poor team??? Surely it is harder for any player to shine when around average or poor players?? And if he does then that would indicate a very good player imho.
