It is called having multiple interests in life.

People cannot spend every Good Friday every year of their lives at Odsal for a Super League match.

Well us Wigan and Saints fans have managed it every year. In fact it's the first good friday they've had for years.

Especially when the chances are the Bulls will get slaughtered.

I think a good wedge of Bradford fans were probably expecting the usually inevitable defeat.

Poor at best.

Still not a bad crowd though! Better than most clubs get.

So did us Wigan fans last night but we still turned up. We almost got that crowd when Wakefield visited us.

Look, the crowds for this game have been massive down the years. There's nothing to say crowds for other derby games might fall off in years to come.

I was at both games you mentioned, i got in free to the first, paid today - i think theres a reason for a few thousand

And Huddersfield fans don't have any jokes they didn't steal from Halifax.

Bradford used to average 15k. Now they can't even get that for their biggest game of the year. Wow they have fallen from grace spectacularly.

Just for the record, since this is probably one of the only times I'll get to say this, Hull FC have the biggest average attendance in SL with 17,039, with not one crowd below 14k so far. Although I expect that to drop unless somehow we manage to stuff Saints away on Monday!

How far would you attribute those massive Hull crowds to early season success, how far to a hatred of the odious and rightly reviled Hull KR, how far to the rise of Tom Briscoe, and how far to the quality of the Hull FC website?

the stadium has a lot to do with it espec when its freezing and raining and playing as bad as we have done for a decade if we had a ground like wigan or hull we would get bigger crowds.

Just realised slstats.org missed out the Hull vs Catalans attendance, so the average is 15,900. Still the largest, though.


Our crowds have grown with the presence of KR most certainly.
And they are slightly higher most likely due to our run of form (the game against Wigan being because it was our first of the season).

Bulls win game. Folk who do not wish us well find things to whinge about. Nothing new under the sun.

I think the scope of activities available in West Yorkshire compared to Wigan/Saints (eating pies/rugby league) and Hull (kicking people in the face/rugby league) keep Leeds/Bradford derby crowds low IMHO.
