What happens if you exceed the allotted time please?

Based on when someone went over the time at Wheldon Road last season, literally nothing.

What I'd like to see is a speeding up of the decision making and a instant one instead of a spinning wheel on the video ref play back, it fetches no excitement and is down right frustrating to watch

I don't think they've thought that far ahead. It'll happen one day in a big televised game and cause a big fuss. It happened at Saints last season and nothing happened at all, the countdown just went blank and the game resumed a few seconds later.

The shot clock on drop outs is irrelevant and still a farce. Far too many players go down 'injured' when a drop out is conceded. It's time the referees were instructed to only stop the game for an obviously serious injury, or for the player who goes down to have to leave the field and come back on during the next set as happens in football. They need to discourage it.

Correct decision. They brought the shot clock in to speed up the process. But it had an adverse effect. Teams were using every allocated second to get the ball in the scrum.

The part regarding the wheel has been my bug bear all season. Totally pointless waste of time, doesn't create any tension or excitement at all, it just wastes time after a lengthy video ref decision.

In a way the spinning wheel undermines the whole VR process, as it reinforces a notion of luck/chance being part of the decision making process, rather than it being evidence based.

It's absolutely cringeworthy.
Just put the "wheel" sponsors name underneath "try" or "no try".

To me it’s rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic! What is the obsession with speeding up the game? I am sad to report that after 60 years supporting this game I have to say that it is becoming so one dimensional that all we get are five drives & a kick there is no competition for possession of the ball as most skills are discouraged for fear of loosing possession. I am sad to say that I am not getting excited for the new season as I used to do. The game is becoming stagnant like in the 1960s when it got so bad that desperate measures where needed & they brought in four tackles then six as we have now. Tinkering at the edges is no use! a drastic rethink of where the game is going is needed? It must be bad if long time supporters are drifting away from the game?

Widnes got penalised for taking to long over putting the 'ball in the scrum' last season. It has actually happened...honest !

Half the time the ref stops the clock and the shot clock becomes irrelevant anyway. I do like the idea of the "injured" player being asked to leave the pitch at the drop out. Unless a player is in the way play generally continues in open play so why not at the drop out? I assume that the player dropping out would try to move the ball as far away from the injured man as possible anyway.

I was at the U2 gig a few weeks back in Auckland.....I believe they've finished the tour now, so this would be available

Better, get rid of the sponsors. I suspect putting their moniker in the spotlight is a major reason why various blindingly obvious decisions are "sent up".

I know, sort of seems obvious when you think about it and it doesn't stretch into the realms of a silly conspiracy, just a bit of time wasting.

I am sure KFC are quite delighted with their sponsorship of the NRL video ref decisions......again there does seem to be a lot of "going upstairs" downunder

At the very least, I know if I ever visited down under I will know how much a combo box meal will cost me.

I've only seen the Shot clock enforced once last year and it resulted in a penalty to the other team. Can't even remember what game it was?
