| well done Richard Agar. built a side from nothing, made the playoffs and did not look out of place there either. think wakey are only 2-3 good signings off being a regular playoff contender.
all those years of abuse from the Hull fans, really proved what a good coach he his.

| I had my doubts about him when he was announced as our coach, but he has done a magnificent job this year. I think out of the other coaches there would only be two who would achieve what he has done with the squad he has.

Two points...
1. Agar didn't get years of abuse from Hull fans. He got some stick in his final season after years of underachievement.
2. He's proved nothing yet. Which isn't to say that he won't.

Get your facts right before you post....he took us to 2 play-offs,which we lost, just like Wakey and also took us to 2 bottom 3 finishes in the years before.I wasnt a Agar fan and didnt agre with him getting the job after Sharp went and like Kosh said,he got the "abuse" in his last season after years of underachieving.

| He's done a great job at Wakefield over the course of the last few months. It's amazing what a bit of confidence and momentum can bring to a side. I felt they were desperately unlucky last night and had they been more clinical or got some of the calls their way (notably the 'forward' pass in the first half, followed by the Leeds non-forward pass for Burrow's try) then the result may have been completely different.
It's a platform to build upon but the question is whether they can do that again next season. I think London will be tough cookies next season and who knows what is going to happen with Bulls and Salford. With Cas, you never know what team you're going to get. They've got a good chance but need one or two key signings.

| To be honest he's done a much better job with Wakey than what gentle has done at Hull. He's definitely given us a great platform to build on next season, we'll see how he does next year with full input into recruitment and preseason etc.
If we can get playoffs again next year, I'll be happy.

Total rubbish, gentle has achieved more in a year than agar did in three.
He has totally transformed hull from the shambles agar and the board left hull in in less than a year.
Agar has gone well, no one can argue with that, but to say he has done a better than gentle is rubbish.

| I've never rated Agar, but he deserves credit for what he's done this year.
Wakefield were fantastic for 50 minutes last night before Leeds put them away.

| Any old team that can go on a good run for a few games can be ''playoff contenders''. That's if by playoff contenders you mean, [ihas the ability to finish in the top 2/3rd's of the table.[/i.
But if you actually meant to compete in the playoffs...only a few teams can do that.
Even with wakefield playing out of their skin, they were easily beaten by 20+ points by the worst leeds team in over a decade.
Still, i'm pleased for richard agar, he had to suffer years of abuse from the rabid dogs over at hull and the only suprise to me is that he didn't leave that hell hole of a club earlier.

Doesn't change the fact that you're not in the play-offs on merit, you're there on the back of someone else's failure.

In your opinion.
My opinion is that player for player and budget for budget - Agar has achieved more with what he had at his disposal than Gentle has.
As for Wakey only finishing in playoffs because of Bradfords finances, if the Bulls had spent within their means, they wouldn't have had the playing staff capable of picking up so many points IMO.

Sometimes sport cruel. That failure was hard earned by no other than the bulls board and club themselves. Despite the funding to maintain a team that was not viable the bulls squad failed to make the playoffs despite been in the driving seat still with 3 games to go.
The table says wakey earned the 8th spot and that will remain in the history books. Enjoy your rugby league... We do .

| Richard Agar has improved Wakey this season and frankly I don't really care what Hull do, we have had a good run this season and having watched them all my life I am proud of what Agar has achieved and hopefully we can build on this next season. You see it benefits the game if more clubs can compete at the highest level and it would be nice to see Hull get there as well.

Finishing in the top 2/3rds of the table then getting thrashed in the playoffs doesn not constitute competing at the highest level, but then I guess that's the best clubs like wakefield can hope for.

Listen to yourself. Wakefield (who lost by 20 points) did not get thrashed because it was the lowest losing margin of the playoffs so far.
What. The. Fuck.
Does that not illustrate how terrible our playoffs are, and how woefully out of their depth 50% of the teams who compete are?

He didn't get much stick for Hull's performances during the weekly rounds of the season, it was his complete inability to get a win in a 'must win' tie such as a crucial game against the Top4, a CC game or a playoff that brought much criticism.
He has had a good season with a makeshift Wakefield side, but he is still yet to prove he can win a big game under pressure.

| He's done very well this season and turned us around, and importantly, as he's said himself changed the way people think about the club (on the whole)......we've played some great stuff at times and finished the season really well...
Any sensible rugby fan knows we gave Leeds a very good game last night and although the scoreline favoured Leeds by 22 points it was a lot closer than that.....had Washbrook made the play with 9 minutes to go we were 4 points behind with the momentum.....the gap in the scoreline only grew because we were having to chance our arm in desperation and Leeds capitalised on that....as a true champion side would.....
Agar's true test of course will come next season.....there was no pressure really this season as every man and his dog had us down to struggle.....with the way we've finished anything outside a top 8 finish will be looked on as a failure and the pressure will grow......even a poor start and the pressure could be on as expectation will be much higher......hope he does well though becasue he clearly knows the game very well and always comes across well in his interviews....

| I think Andrew Glover deserves more credit, he has completely transformed the club. Under his owenerhsip, Wakey can really build something. Also think the fans deserve some credit as it's great to see Wakey getting good attendances.
On Agar he's done OK. You have to look at it realistically, Widnes were the new boys and were going to have a season finding their feet, London have had a terrible season and so have Cas ( think both will bounce back next year), i think Salford and KR threw away their season, while Bradfords problems are well documented. He has done very well still to get them in the play-offs as he threw a team together at very short notice.
I think his acid test will be next year, I expect Cas & London to bounce back and be play-off contenders next year, KR & Salford i'm unsure, while Widnes still need a few signings to challenge IMO Bradford have lost some players but i expect us to finish between 7 - 10.

Can't argue with that really, though I think Cas may struggle again.
