It's an achievement. He's made a brave decision to turn down a final year in Union to come and play league for a new franchise. He has given league a lot of good publicty with how he has spoken so enthusiastically about the move. If his hard work pays off and he can inspire Welsh players into seeing league as an option it should be applauded.

I bet it won't. Let's assess things in two years and see these "wonders" you speak of. I've nothing against what he's doing and i wish him well but it's nothing to get so excited about really. Unfortunately too many RL fans do not understand the term , ''Bigger Picture''.

You don't get any bigger than Jonathan Davies. With a mass of media attention, he came, he saw and he certainly conquered. Rugby League in the UK still sits firmly behind Union though. I know what the bigger picture is - it's Rugby League as a minority sport and the likes of Gareth Thomas, and nay, Jonathan Davies of the recent past won't be changing that any time soon.

Took his try well, although not sure of how good a feat that is at the moment as we must be a dream to play against for wingers. Only one try is probably a poor effort against us for a winger.



Still showed a few signs of his inexperience of the game, but looks a hell of a lot better than what I saw of his debut and could develop into a top RL player in time, which is good for the game.

Well done Alfie. Not gonna be easy for ANYONE to debut at top-level RL at his age and score his first try within a few weeks.

You give him the ball 10 yards from the line in that space and he will score 8out 10 times. Not many will stop him that far out and with a bit of space. He has good footwork for a big man, to compliment a good hand off and strength. All good assests for finishing.

What was brave about his decision? Absolutely no financial risk whatsoever. He's made his money already. His reputation as a union player is assured thanks to his 100 Welsh caps and Lions captaincy.

His switch has brought plenty of publicity and he has talked well of the move.

Let's hope it's the first of a decent few in what will probebly be his only season in top flight RL. Well done and good luck to him.
