| With the demise of Bradford, who will be the 'Rhinos' biggest rivals now?
They don't really have any other rivals except the Bulls, so who will be their big game next season?

Without a doubt castleford if they can keep the momentum next year, or if they are a one season wonder, no one.

To be fair though, Cas and Leeds games always seem to have been relatively close regardless of Cas' form.

| Cas has always been a more bitterly-fought derby anyway so not sure what the OP's thinking is? The airport derby was big for a while, but Leeds-Cas and Leeds-'Unslet are the only derbies with real staying power and historic resonance.

No it wasn't always. The Boxing Day and Easter Monday clashes with Wakefield used to be the big derby matches. Even this season, with the position we've been in, there were more at Headingley for the Trinity match than for Cas. Just because you've had one good season!!!!

Err, no there wasn't.
Less than 14,000 against Wakey - over 16,000 against Cas (and televised!).
Kind of diminishes your argument.

| Wakefield v leeds always big derby back in the day always the Boxing Day fixture even Christmas Day fixture. Sadly since the might Trin haven't been anywhere near their potential for the last 40 years it's dropped off. When we return to our glory days and reach our potential it will be big derby again due to the proximity of the 2 Cities

When Wakefield’s glory days return, I’ll be blowing in the wind.
There’s more chance of me seeing The Smiths on tour .

I so wish I had your optimism, maybe it’s an age thing, but in all my forty odd years of watching Wakefield there has never been a glimmer of them returning to their glory days.
The O.P’s question was “Who will be Leeds biggest rivals” with a little ironic theory that it was Bradford.
It never was Bradford, or Wakefield, it never will be Cas, it’s always been Wigan & probably always will be.

Well it depends if he means in a local derby way.
If it's just overall rivals then Wigan without a doubt.

Leeds biggest local rivals are like the shifting sand, depending on who’s doing well in that era.
On recent form surely Huddersfield fit the bill. Bradford have been consigned to the bin for at least a year, Castleford are riding a freak wave, whereas Wakefield are a very old foe, in a semi vegetative state, with a faint hope of survival.

| As a Leeds fan, I have to say that on fixtures day it is Wigan and St Helens that I'm looking for before most others, usually followed by Cas away, Bradford and Hull away.
Certainly in recent years, St Helens has been a stand-out fixture - largely because I think the hatred was more on the field than it was in the stands. There was an intense rivalry between the players, which caught the imagination of the fans. It's a shame that seems to have died away a bit since James Graham left Saints.
Despite them being 'traditional' rivals, I'm indifferent to Wakefield.

Ouch!
They got the hubcap though. Did anyone notice Brian Mac stating we'd won 10 trophies in the decade and went on to list 6 GF wins, 3 WCC wins and a CC win. Even he didn't mention the 2 hubcaps. Very telling I thought!
As for the rivalry it's got to be Cas for me.

they beat us in the play offs a couple of years back...at the end of the day with the currant system, winning the league means nothing, its hitting form in sept/oct that counts and over the sl period northern and leeds have hit form in these periods, we might beat leeds more often than not in league games, but we aren't their main rival and they have also learnt when to peak in the season
