Quote ="Hopie"Why are so many posters determined to see conspiracies when games are postponed, what advantages are clubs supposedly getting from not playing. Do the clubs not need the thousands of pounds they get from opening the turnstiles and getting fans in stadiums?
Do we pay players enough to live in bubbles, to either not see their children or to put their families in isolation with them? Are you surprised that the big daft lads that play rugby have young families, live in communities that have high rates of infection and have a lot of free time may come across someone who has a highly infectious disease?
Are you afraid your club might miss out on the playoffs because we are following the rules, set up in consultation with public health authorities, that allowed the game to return and get the money from sky last season that kept it alive? Should we have ignored the rules and let the game die out even quicker than it already is?'"
It's impossible to know if any clubs are bending or breaking the rules.
However, there are some clubs who have battled hard to ensure that as many games as possible go ahead and others that are repeatedly having to call off games.
You talk about the game dying off but, the one absolute certainty is that, the number of postponed games, in relation to the total number of fixtures, is certainly damaging any lingering credibility we have with Sky.
We're already having the TV deal massively reduced, with the likely consequence of a reduced top flight and as a sport, our negotiating position is getting weaker with each passing day.
Of course, we dont have the same income as PL and players cant afford to isolate themselves from friends and families etc
However, it does appear that on occasion, some clubs are "playing the game" nd not doing enough to ensure that they complete thier fixtures.
