Traditional badges are fine for football clubs so why not RL?

I don't see Liverpool, Arsenal or Tottenham failing to attract viewers because they have traditional (but updated) badges.

I think we're too ready to chuck away traditions in the hope of getting more fans, when some of those traditions aren't the problem.

Why are Warrington's gates up over the past two decades? Having a decent ground that caters for both fans who want corporate luxury/a nice family experience in the stands and fans who want to stand on the terraces, and a competitive team, not because they adopted an Americanised nickname.

Nothing wrong with incorporating elements of a coat of arms into a decent club badge, Wigan should have taken the castle from the centre of theirs and made something of it.

The main problem with having the town coat of arms (I believe) is that the club can't copyright it, hence Wire dropped it from the shirts in 1991.

But you can have a variation on the town's traditional symbols and make it the club's own.
