| It's almost as if Uncle Bri's opinion on things change, based on the circumstances in which he finds himself.

| I think he makes some fair points sometimes about players being more expensive when signing for Toronto, because they demand more to play over there, but that's about it. But then again, Stevie Ward would probably demand more to play for Wakey than for Leeds because of likely loss of medals. It's not all clear cut. And there must be plenty of young lads without young children who'd fancy a summer in Canada. Or even those with.
But you'd think the prospect of injuries with a 23-man squad has come as a surprise to him.

Quote ="TrinTrin"McDermot, now he questions head injury protocols because he is short of players, ie, John wilkin. Says his head only hurt for four days in bed ????
John Wilkin has said nothing against this, yet he is on record as players representative saying RFL don't take players health on head injuries serious enough.
No one likes their team being a player down during a match let alone a squad. But players need their health long term, or maybe I am missing something ?
All very sad to be questioning players H& S !'" he did come out to represent it for the players

| Although it is a contact sport, and head injuries have been part of the sport since the beginning, player welfare has to be paramount.
What I would say is that tackles that are aimed around the head/neck, even chicken wing and cannon ball tackles, all of which threaten a players career and liveliehood, are punished more severely, than what they are now. May go as far as lawyers on the disciplinary panel, who have no connections to the sport, only personal welfare

| Thanks for the reply Snowie, also Wilkins quote etc, however, why has McDermot taken the opposite view & position about his head injury & Wilkin has said nothing ! or that we know of !
Players long term health must be the right option at all times !
