1/ Castleford were at Home on Friday, so there really is little excuse for not attending.
2/ The game v Catalan was announced when the fixtures came out, so if you stuck a quid in a money box every day since then you'd have had more than enough to cover flights and hotels.
3/ If you're a fan, you always find a way.....bottom half of the table Brentford v rooted to the foot of the table Ipswich in the 2nd tier on a Wednesday night got 10,039.....that's 106 below the average for Brentford all season.......Fans of other sports seem capable of turning up regularly, but RL fans, although they profess to love the Greatest Game, seem more adept at finding excuses not to attend?
Times are hard, but the reality for a fan of a Superleague side is that other than London and Catalans, there is little excuse for not at least trying to get to 9 away games a year. Some, maybe 2 will be on a Thursday, some on a Friday, but the fans of Salford and Castleford have Saturday afternoon KO's to get to this weekend, whilst Wakey, Hudds & HKR can be on the road home by 6pm at the latest on Sunday and tucked up in bed by 7pm as all three away trips are under an hour by car!
BTW. On the topic of away to Catalan. If the cost of visiting France is the equivalent of visiting the other 10 SL teams, surely as a FAN, you'd skip France and take in 10 extra games a year......
