| We appear to have a small problem on the VT with pro- versus anti-expansionists. The issue is that the pro-expansionists attempt to turn every thread towards their agenda and the anti-expansionists take the bait and the whole thing degenerates into name calling and personal insults. This is driving away the VT users who wish to have a more general rugby league discussion, and as a result this forum is becoming a little stale.
Just because someone has an alternate view to you doesn't mean that they are 'trolls' or 'trolling', no matter how vociferously they argue their point.
This is a forum for discussing rugby league, threads on other subjects will be moved to the Sin-Bin or deleted.
[size=150All views and opinions are welcome and valid on this forum, if you don’t like someone’s point of view then either argue against it in a rational and reasoned way, or simply ignore it. Don’t descend into personal insults.[/size
Starting today, and over the coming days and weeks, moderators will be taking a closer look at the threads on the Virtual Terrace (and perhaps some other forums) and enforce the following rules, in an even handed manner with all users.
1. Vibrant debate is exactly what these forums are designed for, aggressive criticism of an individual’s post, post content or posting style is not.
2. Threads which are not directly about pro- or anti-expansionism shall not be derailed into discussions about pro- and anti-expansionism. Where this happens it will result in posts being removed and the appropriate action being taken against the poster.
3. Personal insults, and or name calling, will result in posts being removed and the appropriate action being taken against the poster.
4. Breaches of the AUP will result in posts being removed and the appropriate action being taken against the poster.
5. If you think that a post breaches these simple rules then report it, using the report button at the bottom of the post, and it will be investigated. Repeated reporting of non-breaching posts may lead to action being taken against the user due to time wasted in the moderation process.
6. If you have an issue with moderation then please take it up with Admin by raising a support ticket at support.rlfans.com and they will investigate. Public criticism of the moderation process, or our moderators, is not acceptable and will result in posts being removed and the appropriate action being taken against the poster.
Please take a look at our Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) which is available from the Help menu at the top of this page to see what is, and what is not, acceptable.
Please note that our Moderators are all part-time volunteers which may mean that some issues could take some time to be dealt with.
