I think there were some off-field criteria that we didn't satisfy when we last considered it, so our post-match venue was a pub a 5 minute drive away from the ground for example. However, I think part of it was just the club was just coming out of Conference League South with some ridiculous travel involved (the league comprised Nottingham, West Wales Raiders, Valley Cougars, Torfaen Tigers, Gloucester All Golds and London Chargers), so we were quite happy to have relatively small distances for a bit!

The more the merrier! The 28th is a massively significant game for the club, but the 12th May we have a double header too which should be good.

Think they will need to now show a bit of sustainability to be recommended by the clubs. This is a massive step for them though and if the junior section is in line can see an application shortly for them. Would be great to see them in the conference'"
We've ran juniors (and a women's section) for a number of years now. Unfortunately, we don't get any support and arranging matches is often a struggle. The new Player Development League might help in this regard. The other thing is that I think no one team exists in isolation, so even on occasions when we have been really strong with our juniors, it's difficult retaining interest with nobody to play. One year I coached the u14s/u15s and we had 20 lads down at training every week to start with and nobody to arrange matches against. You can imagine what turnout was like by the end of the Summer...
