Quote="Lebron James"Cheers. Had a £500 double on that. Did you? The fact you actually quoted your own post must mean you did. Well done, what you spending your winnings on?
Why is it Widnes fans believe every ref has a team they support? A few years ago they thought Hicks or whoever it was a Wakey fan. Also they seem very happy that Bentham was injured last night. What a charming bunch.

Bentham lives in Warrington and has mentioned in the past that he does indeed support Warrington. And I believe it was Thaler not Hicks who some believed to be a Wakey supporter.
As for a "charming bunch".. I actually think quite a few on that site are complete bell ends. Not all mind, but as with any fans forum you get the good and you get the numpties, unfortunately TIW has more of the latter these days as most of the decent contributors have stopped posting.

Of course referees support a team. If they didn't, they wouldn't have an interest in the sport and wouldn't be involved in any capacity.
But I think it's a bit naïve to suggest that this support impacts on how they referee certain teams. Say Bentham is a Wire fan for example, then why would the penalty count be lopsided to Widnes during the first half as it was last night.
