Okay I will explain it. Nearly every tackle in rugby league involves some degree of holding down, as it is part and parcel of bringing someone down to the ground with your body. It is at the referees discretion as to what constitutes an offence and what is normal progress. This is not the case with armed robbery or shop lifting. You either steal from a shop or you don't.

It is my opinion that Child punished us for holding down in a tackle for a period of time that was normal progress. I witnessed Wigan doing the exact same thing and seeing it go unpunished. I wouldn't have punished it, in either occasion. I thought the referee was inconsistent and didn't have control of the game.

It's academic now as it was a week ago and I'm over it. Enjoy your game too.

Back to the thread, Wigan, started by a Saints fan.

Interesting how we look at it. Yes Wigan haven't been brilliant that's for sure.
However, with the draw at Widnes and win v Huddersfield give us 3 points out of 4 against last season when both those two fixtures were lost.

Looking at the fixture list of Wigan's first 7 games this year, in those respective matches 2014 only 3 points were picked up. Next two up are HKR then Cas both away, then Hull FC home followed by Leeds away, after those is Wakefield away.
Last year we got a point from the draw at HKR and the win at home v Hull FC.
Perhaps in spite of not playing too well league points are being picked up.
As far as I'm concerned at the moment it's not too bad a situation.
