Richard Agar's dismal showing at Hull, Wakefield and now France apparently leading to a cushy job at Warrington got me thinking about Teflon coaches who keep bouncing back despite being consistently incompetent.

When I was a kid I always wondered why clubs kept employing Maurice Bamford despite failure after failure. A bit more recently there has been cases such as Ricky Stuart in the NRL and arguably Steve McNamara. Who else deserves their place in the Teflon coach hall of fame?

How do you judge success though? Agar at Wakey had to rebuild 3 times and got them into the play offs in his first year when no one gave them a chance. Brian Smith is lauded as a great coaching guru but won nothing? Both have never been out of work long

Agar drained the life out of Wakey. Dull, unproductive rugby made 1000x worse. If he ever takes over as Head Coach, Wire fans are in for a depressing time. Besides had Bradford not cheated and gone into admin we would've finished 9th.

My main gripe with him at Hull wasn't the poor rugby (although it was really bad), it was that he seemed frightened to death to give any youngster a chance and preferred to shuffle 5 or 6 players around instead of giving someone their chance.

He isn't the sole reason for our poor youth development in recent times, but he played a big part in it. I wish him all the best, but I can't believe he keeps getting such good jobs when he has failed in every role he has had so far.

He played Mathers on the wing rather than give a young kid a shot. The guy is so uninspiring and he will drain the life from Warrington should they ever be stupid enough to give him the head coach role. He's an assistant coach at best.

He won't get the Head Coach job, I can't see us being THAT stupid.
However we do have a knack of turning disgraced or disappointing individuals into brilliant individuals so..
