I doubt many members of the public know (or care) what religion Farah is ........... until reading this thread I certainly didn't.

Obviously you don't like golf and don't regard it as a "proper" sport. I disagree but that's fair enough.

As for what has he done that's so special. Well he went to world number 1. He won back to back majors (only the 13th guy in history to do this) and a WGC. He also won the Ryder Cup.

Whether you like golf or not there's simply no one else who has achieved anything close to that this year.

Good job it's Sports Personality of the year then & not Athlete of the year. People running round a track is crap & boring & it amazes me how that is classed as a sport.

That he achieved as much in the year. I.E. winning man of the match in a cup final
