Quote ="@airlie_bird"Strikes me that this is the problem with the family game today. Traditionally people of all teams went to big finals. Neutrals stood or sat with all fans and enjoyed the occasion.
Increasingly we see fewer openly neutral fans and have this "hate" culture were we have to hate teams.
Sadly it's a fact through all of society perpetuated through social media.
I'd take the op up on his offer but I've already got tickets. There was absolutely no chance of my boys getting there and I've known that since 2007
but I'm taking my eldest boys so that they can enjoy a true sporting spectacle regardless of which team is there.'"
Bit late to the thread but I have to disagree with this. RL finals are packed with neutrals and any "hate" that exists within the culture of the game very rarely goes beyond good natured passion. Last year I was sat in the Wire end, though there were various other fans dotted around too including other Wiganers, and the banter was great. You wouldn't get that in the other game.
Anyway as far as the OP goes, was it really such a bad prospect to watch either Catalans, Saints, Wire or us? My attendance at the GF was determined when all 14 teams were still in the mix and there's no way I wouldn't have gone. I'll admit that a week ago the prospect of a Saints v Warrington final had me worried but had that been the case there's no way I'd have sold my tickets. Surely the final we've got can't b that bad?!
