The last World Cup was great, and I enjoyed the games tremendously, including the "joke" Scots that won 2 and drew 1 to make the QFs.

I'm sure the fact that none of them played for Ayrshire Storm or Carluke Tigers spoiled it for some, and that's fair enough, but not for me, I just liked the rugby.

I've no problem with debate on WC qualification, but must say that reaching the WC QFs (in style, in the Scots' case) seems like a reasonable qualifying route to me. The OP seems to be saying that Scotland shouldn't automatically qualify, not because they met the criteria on the rugby field, but because they don't have a pro league. I disagree, I think the credit given for their actual international performances was hard earned, and to me is by far a more equitable yardstick.

No issue with this decision for me, and i'd keep the format of the world cup pretty much the same as 2013 (one strong ground, 1 group with New Zealand, 2 groups of minnows) but the game badly needs the likes of France, PNG, Fiji & Samoa to step up and at least give the big 3 a game. Australia mauling Fiji after a fantastic England-NZ semi was probably the World Cup low point for me.
