Great move for him!!!

on the dragons forum they think they will pair up widdop (who replaces soward) and chase together in the halves.

I am pleased that Widdop has made this move so we can see how good he actually is when he isnt surrounded by superstars. Personally I think he is an average player playing in an outstanding team and this will be a bad move for him.

Well Craig Bellamy & Steve Price have a different opinion to yours. Think people forget that Widdop has kept Brett Finch (who was the best stand-off in SL last year) out of the side.

I think Widdopp has real potential, but it will certainly be a big jump for him to be one of the main playmakers (which is the only reason I wouldn't necessarily automatically put him at 6 for England yet).

I wonder if that in fact played some part of his decision to move? I've no doubt that the plan would have been for him to take over responsibility at the Storm once one of Smith/Cronk retires, but that could easily be 3 years away. That's a long time to be waiting in the wings - not to mention probably earning significantly less than he will at St George in the meantime.

Anyway, as a supporter of GB/England I wish him all the best - and Chase too if he moves to St George.
