Last weekend Ireland A played the Welsh Dragonhearts in Limerick and it was good to see some good quality rugby league on display. The Welsh team ran out winners, but not without being involved in a hard game. League craft had a great bearing on the outcome as the Welsh looked like league players playing league, whereas the Irish carried alot of traits over from Union and struggled to find the wider spaces or spread the work load across the team. This is to be expected as most of the Irish side are involved in the upper echelons of the Irish domestic Union game and spending their summer playing league. Bearing in mind some of the greats of league carried Irish names, it is good to see it being played there.
