Quote ="AdmiralHanson"I actually want Welsh team(s) in the competition .... But, like London, the RFL have messed up again.
The problem is placing ONE team in a particular area, when actually you should be placing TWO teams in Wales. The most logical conurbations would be Swansea and Cardiff.
Ever wondered why Bradford Vs Leeds or Wigan Vs Saints etc. get the biggest crowds ... That's right, they're local derbies. The sort of game that is talked over at the workplace on the Monday morning, the one where families are divided and where you can have bragging rights over the people around you. How can you have a 'local rival' that is in the case of London over 180 miles away ?
It also just happens that Swansea and Cardiff hate the sight of each other in sporting events too, assuring a good crowd ....'"
.......
Your argument is blown straight out of the water by quoting the most crowds are for "derbies such as Brats v Loiners or Saints v Pie eaters-being from towns apart from each other-- I suggest you check the attendances for the best Derby in League .....the HULL derby between the FC and HKR.
No, maybe Crusaders should try playing for a true League appreciation attendance and relocate to one of the Cumbrian clubs -with the dosh the've squandered in the last few years, it's about time Sky stopped trying to 'expand' to r.union heartlands and started to see where their real heartland is.
Widnes fans will see the benefit of having Saints playing in Widnes until their own stadium is ready to occupy and maybe then the RFL will at last give Widnes the Welcome to SL they always deserved.
It's only common sense, but then again, since when have our leaders shown any of that.......grannyfan Cindy
