Surely that could then become a tactic on the part of the attacking side if the ball is near the wing and the tackle count is running low. The ref would have the burden of deciding if the ball was deliberately bounced off an opponent. Not an easy call.

The reason the Saints player was passing the ball in the first place was because he was being pushed into touch and was trying to fling the ball back inside. Why should anyone in that position get an advantage through continuing the tackle count infield?

IT wouldn't matter if the tackle count was running low. If it was on the fourth, let them play on with the fifth and last. If it's the last, handover.

I don't see why an attacking side should be at a disadvantage for trying to keep the ball alive.

During the game on Friday there were two times when players were being pushed into touch and offloaded. The Saints example you cite had the Saints player just flinging the ball straight into the Leeds tackler - the ball bounced into touch. Ryan Hall was also been driven into touch, but right before the touchline he managed to put a perfect offload straight into the arms of a supporting Leeds player.

If you want to keep the ball, offload properly to your own player. Don't expect the RFL to come out with your nonsense of rewarding blind flinging of the ball into tacklers.
