 Shaun Wane is expecting Rhinos playmaker Danny McGuire to receive a suspension when he appears before the disciplinary committee later this afternoon.
Never one afraid of trying to influence the disciplinary committee, his comments follow Brian McDermott expressing his hopes that 'common sense prevails'. Both would be guilty of sub-judice should McGuire be on trial rather than hoping for a semi-final place when the teams meet this friday night.

Nowt like blowing thing out of proportion, eh?
If he gets a ban, it's in line with this season's buzz words "attack to the head". If he doesn't, just shows lack of consistency yet again whether you think he deserves one or not.
For the record - no, I'm not comparing it to McIlorum's hit, which was far more severe. However, McGuire clearly threw the arm and struck the head -and the point is that if the RFL are to be consistent, a ban would be fair. 1 game only.

Wane has won a league leaders shield and to date his side has made 2 semi finals in his Wigan career with the potential to reach the GF this year.
McDermott has made every major final possible and won a grand final and WCC in his Leeds career to date and has the chance to continue that on Friday.
They may not be the sharpest tools in the box but that's some going for two reasonably inexperienced coaches. They obviously have good sides at their disposal but overall you couldn't say it's unclear why they've been picked. |

Yep I'd agree with that. If McGuire hadn't had a previous suspension this season then if the panel were being generous he might have got away with a fine for having a good disciplinary record over the years, but in the circumstances a 1 match ban would seem appropriate. |
