What to do with the Margin Meter? Stick it where the sun don't shine!

Doesn't cause me much bother to be honest. If you're not interested in it, just don't listen, it's not like it actually effects anything.

I haven't watched every Sky game but has the Margin Meter ever predicted any game spot-on so far?

It predicted the Bradford Saints game correctly at one point during the second half iirc. But because it changes so much i don't really see what it proves if it gives about 10 different predictions throughout the game it's about to get 1 right now and then. All it does is show that momentum with one team usually means they will score more points, but not win the match as this obviously changes throughout the game.

It seems to predict a win for the team in front at the time,odd that.

I have fed all the data from the ‘margin meter’ into my ‘worthability meter’ and I can tell you, if things stay the same it will be about as useful as Angela Powers review of baby changing facilities.

I miss those Super League ground reviews, they where truely awful.

If I recall correctly Eddie was crowing at the end of Saints v Bulls that the margin meter was 'spot-on' with it's prediction at 75 minutes. What he omitted to say was that it was wrong for the previous 74 minutes, and for much of that time was predicting a Saints win.

Personally I don't give a toss what they do with it. It's just one of many features of their matchday coverage that winds me up.

I like the margin meter. They're using it for evil rather than good though.

The way to use the margin meter is for post match analysis. Then you get to say this is what the stats were predicting the result would be. This is what the result is. Let's talk about the ways in which the two things don't match up, because this is how the total is either greater or lesser than the sum of its parts.
