People who like footy will always like footy...as people who prefer aerial ping pong will always prefer that.

pffft AFL won't be a beep on the radar out in the West of Sydney the only code that the NRL has to worry about is the West Sydney Rovers (A-League team) even then it'll be a hard road for them especially if the Tigers, Panthers or Eels make the finals

what's the betting the new Sydney team starts with crowds of around 15k and within 5 years are drawing a higher avg than any of the Western RL teams? They said the same thing about the Swans and Lions and look how they turned out. If you've got the $'s you can make any sport work anywhere imo.

I watched the first installment of this year's Grand Final and to be honest it was a load of skinny blokes, with minimal skill, chasing a faux rugby ball around. It's a load of old rubbish.
The only reason I watched it was to catch up with some friends and drink a few beers.
And I needed the beers... |

I've been here all my life and i still don't know what the games about.They simply don't have much rules.Just go out there and hope for the best that someone scores a goal,or get a point for missing.
If we went over to score a try and dropped the ball it is deemed as no TRY.
While in AFL they drop the ball while taking a mark and it's considered as a mark.
I'm not into AFL and I know this.They should call it scramble ball lol..... |

before the SL war came around the sport was a distant 2nd to RL. the SL war allowed AFL to close the gap
sadly for them RL has recovered and now has loads of growth ahead of it.
weve got central coast, perth, ipswich, central queensland, png and wellington all begging for nrl teams
and even without them we are number 1.
its a really good time to be a RL fan now

Whilst I agree with you dally about most of your points is RL number 1 in AUS at the moment.
I have no doubt eventually it will be but I thought at this moment aeriel ping pong is the number 1 code.
And as for your last sentence it's ALWAYS good to be an RL fan. |
