| We in Keghley wish we were not part of or anything to do with BRADFORD COUNCIL.
Not for one minute would any genuine cougar fan want to share a ground or owt else with the bulls.
No doubt your former chairman Caisley will ride in to rescue you
On a serious note whether it be valley parade or another venue you have to have ground in Bradford otherwise you may as well merge with Crusaders

| Odsal is like the rest of Bradford,in a hole.
Call that a stadium. I'ts not good enough for rugby. Move down to Valley Parade. Now thats what you call a stadium. Bring back the stockcars to Odsal.

| OK here goes ......
Alternatives to be considered if funding from other partners and a developer led scheme cannot be achieved :
____________
Option A
Increase the covered, seated capacity of the stadium to 10,000
including new conferencing and hospitality spaces (leaving
10,000 uncovered standing capacity), add new community
sports facilities within the existing stadium site and leave some
space for operator funded hotel or sports retail development
Cost £35.1m
____________
Option B
Focus the project on the provision of new community sports
facilities within the existing RDSC site, and postpone
replacement or improvement of stadium facilities until a later
phase of development
Cost £22.5m
_____________
Option C
Focus the project on the provision of new community sports
facilities within the former Northern View Hospital site, and
postpone replacement or improvement of stadium facilities until
a later phase of development.
Cost £29.4m
_____________
Option D
Add new stadium roofs to make all existing standing spectator
positions undercover (with installation of seating at a later date),
provide new community sports facilities within the former
Northern View Hospital site and preserve the option for both
operator funded hotel and sports retail development
Cost£39.6m
_______________
Option E
Add new stadium roofs to make all existing standing spectator
positions undercover (with installation of seating at a later date),
provide new community sports facilities within the existing
stadium site and leave space for some operator funded sports
retail development
Cost £33.8m
_______________
[uGuaranteed funding so far[/u = Council £15, Yorkshire Forward £4.1m and English Netball £0.2m = £19.3m
[uPossible other funding considered[/u :
Contribution from the Bradford Bulls (secured against existing stadiumassets) - £2m
Prudential borrowing costs met through reductions in overheads for
combined more efficient facilities (£200k pa) - £2.8m
Prudential borrowing costs met through rental income from partners
occupying space within the sports village (£50k pa) - £0.7m
Receipt for disposal of RDSC site once community sports facilities are transferred to the sports village - £6.5m
Prudential borrowing funded from corporate sponsorship and naming
rights for stadium or stadium facilities - £?m
Ground rent (or purchase of a long leasehold interest) for commercial development of a hotel and, or sports related retail - £?m
The Council have also considered borrowing money up to tune of £3.5m a year in interest payments to facilitate the compliant scheme !!
Not as dead as some people would believe ......

| Can't we just tell "Yorkshire" Forward that any car parking spaces could be used as part of a park and ride service into Leeds?
At the sight of the magic word their proportion of the funding would no doubt quadruple, and they'd mysteriously manage to bring in other investment to help plug the gap.

Given you appear to have approximately zero credibility on your own board (see the excellent AJ and GW owned you again, on a thread on this very subject) you can hardly expect anyone on HERE to take you seriously.

The problem with these plans (in addition to the projected £12-14m still to be found for any of them) is that I don't see how the current big problem (ie the prohibitive maintenance costs of the stadium site) would be reduced if a lot of the site stays how it is.

| A ground share somewhere in the Aire valley would be a good idea.
Our new chairman has big plans for Cougar Park. I personally cannot see it happening. So it may be the way forward.
I must say the best thing the Bulls can do is to use VP.
If it was that bad a area and the parking was so bad, how come Bradford City fans dont seem to have a problem.

| As a cougar fan I can see how a ground share would answer some of our immediate problems but would eventually see the cougars fade into oblivion - so, not for me thanks.
I used to visit Odsal to watch stockcars long before I watched rugby league. I think it’s a unique place and if I were a Bradford fan would be fighting tooth and nail to develop the site but keep its originality. It’s the one thing that would separate it from the other soul less “Ikea” stadiums.
I can’t see what you have against VP. I can assure you that to an outsider one part of Bradford is very much like the rest.
[iTongue in cheek mode [/i- I don’t think your plans were adventurous enough for Bradford council’s egos why not try this:
Build huge dams across Canal Road and Thornton road then flood the city centre to create a huge deepwater lake (the council seem fond of water). Anchor a huge raft in the middle and in the midst of a transparent geodesic dome build your Wembley of the north. You could even call it something catchy like the Bull bubble. Offer to put the councillor’s names in neon lights around the dome and give them free “waterfront” properties. I’m sure they would go for that. [iEnd of tongue in cheek mode.[/i

| I think if you could recoup the costs from
a) Odsal feasability studies
and
b) the city of culture bid
and
c) westgate
You could have built Bulls a 25,000 seater stadium and the Cougars a 10,000 seater.
How much money have they peed away?

hmm looking at that the funding gap (19.5m + projected 12m from other sources + unknown amounts from stadium sponsorship and hotel site ,whilst still considerable for the 75m scheme, is pretty small for the smaller schemes, which put a roof on and retain the iconic bowl. Certainly seems a lot more positive than spin T&A put on story on tuesday. Anyone else notice how, despite it being there headline story, splashed on billboards across the town on tuesday, they've chosen to not report the combined bulls/council statement yesterday and only reference in todays paper is selected comments from their website from City fans. And how they seem to print big articles from city supporters trust pretty frequently pushing a move to VP. Seems like a bit of an agenda there to me and not exactly unbiased reporting.

| Indeed, I too increasingly sense a strong agenda - to coerce the Bulls out of Odsal and to VP, so City can stay at VP - at work.
2001/2 redux.
And I increasingly doubt the council - the officers that is, not the elected members ( what a good description that is) are anything like the villain of the piece being painted. Possibly far from it.
