He didn't give us many penalties, but I don't think any of his decisions changed the outcome of the game. We'd have lost by alot today whoever the ref was.

But it has to be said that he was shocking for us today, gave us nothing.
The penalty to Huddersfield after Lee Gilmour took out Craig Kopczak was shocking.
All Kopczak did was push Gilmour back for what he did, yet the **** Child gives the call to Huddersfield.
If Child is the future of the RFL's officials then God help us. |

Yes we would have lost playing like that, but I believe today that the referee got the result he wanted. |

The try which the Hudds player grounded about 6 inches over the dead ball line was a particular favourite of mine.
Though to be fair, most of the errors are due to the sheer blindess/incompetance of the linesmen and in goal judges. What do they do? In all honesty?

Well yeah! But I was sat in the stand and had a very good view of it. It was very close though but because of the slope it made it easy to see the ball was in. No slope and it wouldn't have been a try in all honesty.
It was at the opposite side of the field from where you were stood from what I can gather. |

Lets be fair. I didnt think the ref had a bad game. All this is crap regarding he dislikes the Bulls, all fans claaim all refs hate their own team. I will be interested to see if the Giants try in the corner was in or out of play. Lets be fair only a hndful of speccies know as they are the only ones with a good view who sat/stood in that corner. I also think Sykes dopped ball overline was correct decision and i was sat at that end of the stand so not a bad view.
We were crap today anyone blaming the ref needs to grow up!!

Here is what the new editor John Drake had to say
"I felt the Carl Jennings series had run its course and was also quite badly presented in the 'old' mag, but it is interesting to hear people found it useful from a player's perspective.
It isn't something I'd rule out from ever doing again, but if we do it, I'd want it to be done with a degree of quality to match the rest of the mag, and in much more depth so that it had real value rather than just being there for the sake of it"
If you have any ideas for the magazine please feel free to send John an email at john.drake@totalrl.com
He's more than happy to listen to the feedback and see what we can do about it |
