Whinos have no need to. They have capacity constraints at their ground at present, and big enough crowds not to have to worry about dragging a load more in. And don't ever underestimate Hetherington - whatever you might think of his boss, that guy is smart and knows what he is doing.
I say again - we had almost unique circumstances - former huge club with massive ground and large lapsed/lapsing fan base gone through very lean spell (OK, total bloody pants spell then...!) but NOT TOO LATE to draw the lapsed fans back. Much harder for the big clubs of yesteryear who have gone too many years now in our situation.

Don't underestimate the Potter factor either. I imagine if we'd given McNamara another contract we wouldn't have been anywhere near 10,000.
I am surprised the lack of any halfback news didn't hinder us, the issue is still there though, if we don't play some entertaining stuff (and win some matches) next year these fans (new and the ones crawling back) will just as quickly bugger back. I reckon the club knows this though.

Surely they could get a 1 year sponsorship deal out of somebody for the wembley of the north?

| Set-up costs may make that a less attractive option though.
The new stadium sponsors are Johnson Wax...and it will henceforth be called....

| Oh dear, more supporters saying that they've made fake pledges.
One Wakefield supporter saying he's done over a 100 and one saying he made 8,000
They don't seem to be taking this well do they?

| They'll get caught out. I highly doubt these mindless idiots had the sense to use an IP blocker to 'cover their tracks'. Each and every registered pledge can be tracked back to the original pledgee through their registered IP address.

I know you didn't ask me that question, but what difference does it make? Do you seriously think the Bulls are going to bother taking legal action against someone for sixty quid if they refused to pay it?
No, the whole thing was done on the basis of a reasonable degree of trust, and the seemingly perfectly reasonable belief that most if not all people who bothered to pledge would be only too delighted to pay the hugely reduced ticket price that their pledge had contributed to achieving.
OTOH it would be funny in the extreme if indeed some numpty with no intention had pledged ten times, and was forced by a court judgment to stump up, I'd be in favour of doing that just for the laugh.

I'm reliably informed that season tickets won't go back to pre-pledge prices next year. That's not to say they won't be more, but they should nowhere near triple.

Hmmmm, you could be caught between a rock and a hard place my friend. I think it basically comes down to morality and Pounds Sterling.
Given that BBH have pulled off a brilliant sleight of hand, I think you should respond in kind, and kick the morality issue into touch.
Concentrate on the money. You are going to be watching the same shoite that's been on the pitch these last two seasons, and you have to budget for his increased alcohol consumption that another 12 on the bounce loosing streak will bring!
I suspect your £150 family ticket will look like a bit of a bargain come next October

| It's pretty funny that people on the Wakefield board would think that their soon-to-be-deceased club is a template for how to do things
Putting that to one side, its inconceivable that Andrew Bennett and Ryan Duckett didn't sit down with a spreadsheet program and work through a whole series of 'what if' scenarios before this scheme was ever seriously entertained. The whole 10,000 x £60 is a simple and easy to remember marketing tool, but common sense tells us that it is much more complicated than that. Factoring in family tickets, kids tickets, concessions - not to mention vastly different models for corporate bookings, food, drinks, hospitality etc, is all meaning that the amount of income will actually far outstrip the 'ball park' £600K figure.
I think what we're seeing from people on the other boards is a badly concealed jealousy that the Bulls have pulled off an audacious marketing coup that has left their clubs trailing in the dust.

| This is a great job by the Bulls, great marketing effort and corresponding response from the fans. We have already bought our ticket and grabbed the spare seat alongside us for our new ticket holder.
I don't see why this fake pledging is such a big deal. We have hit the target and more people are buying tickets.
All we could do with from the club (when they have some time!) is reassurance that the pledging process worked, they weeded out a couple of hundred fake pledges etc.
That would finish all this nonsense, confirm that the Bulls pledge counters are efficient and good at their jobs and reassure people.

| I'd guess that most of the claims for fake pledges are, ironically, fake. Why would anyone seriously bother to go to the trouble of submitting a fake pledge? Easy to post on RLFans to try a bit of jealous trolling, another to actually waste a part of your small sad life making up fake pledges.
...However, if one of the s who did post a fake pledege is reading this I have a message;
Id just like to say thank you, thank you so so much, Genuinely. Your actions have helped my club, helped me get a cheap season ticket, helped all the other lapsed Bradford fans who will now more than take up your shortfall with the offer of cheap tickets that you so generously gave your time and effort to help bring about.
You might have meant harm to my club, but what you have actually done is helped resurrect the Bulls by getting us over the total and for that you should be so so proud of yourselves, well done you! You're great.

I rather think the financial team there will have done most of the financial modelling, for the marketing guys? Sure hope so! And at length, given the importance of the proposed new strategy? So its a fair assumption that its all been fully costed and is viable financially?
And...I keep saying...the £60 was the headline-grabbing price. Me and thousands others pledged to spend £99 in the stand, for example.
And yes, as I said on the VT, I think we are seeing some people who professed to be sympathetic to our situation when they assumed we had no chance, now pretty miffed that we pulled it off and with ample margin too!

90% of Wakey fans think its great and applaud the Bulls. Look at the thread on our board.
I personally think its great and well done to all concerned.

The trolling - and the bitterness - has been largely limited -as far as I can see - to a few pathetics on the VT and (hardly unexpected) a few specimen examples of the great unwashed Leeds Fekkwittery, and the odd muppet from other clubs.

| As I'm 8,000 miles away, it's difficult to watch the Bulls every week, but now my ex-missus has worked out how to send money to me, (Warning..Nationwide Bs. has stopped ALL cash cards and Flex accounts being used overseas..ie.on holiday etc. at the ATMs) I'm quite chuffed that I can pledge and pay for the season ticket through her...that I don't think I'll use, but as a birthday present to my son, he can have it. I have a feeling things can only get better.....A very good marketing ploy by the Bull's....All the best in season 2011. it's my 61st. birthday and I'm p***ed.....
