What would happen if Marc bought the freehold, as he has stated his intentions to do before now. Would that override any agreement regarding Odsal's use for sport etc?

Generally speaking, are there still supporters out there who are hell bent on the club never leaving Odsal? All I see it as now, and have done for years, is a lead weight around the club just preventing it from ever making any progress, both in a financial and sporting manner.

I would have absolutely no problem ground sharing with BPA, over the road from Odsal or wherever. They have plenty of money now since the recent takeover.

nor does any investment seem to have been made in their facilities - not even an announcement about the future prospects of one.

I could certainly envisage a swap being done with the council; the stadium for the Richard Dunn site, along with Avenue, or not, with the stadium returning to its former use.

must be bloody good players to be able to gel with the team a mere few weeks before the 8s start. smacks a bit of desperation to me, a squad variation on the chairmans vote of confidence " Steve has assembled a great squad " and a couple of weeks later, four new players in for the 8's. its his money.

It was a fans forum, what else were you expecting? I'd say Mellor signing up for another 2 years is very good news indeed.

I assume it means that talks are advancing but nothing is signed yet so nothing can be confirmed. Sounds like we have a deal with the RFL in principal.

I can understand some of the cynicism, but I think it's unwarranted, after all, club officials certainly aren't going to tell fans everything and they naturally have a vested interest in talking things up - hence no-one at the club is going to admit to giving up on being top of the league, even though no-one this side of sensible thinks it's very likely.

The news about Alex was very welcome plus the fact he'll be fit in three weeks. Also very welcome was the news that they are putting more into the academy after the financial disaster caused us to lose so many young players.

The chairman also re-iterated his promise that all decisions have to be cost effective, so to maintain our full time squad, no cheapo ticket prices. They are hoping to get the info for next season out soon.

I'm not cynical about Green at all. If he says he's been negotiating and things are progressing then that's fine with me. I dread to think how much money he's got sat in the Bulls up to right now and that gives him a lot of slack with me.

Last night JL was praising the team for putting in the effort - even in defeat. Which is fair enough, though if it's not the players who are messing up then do we take that as a mea culpa from Jimmy? Of course, we then get players saying in the T&A "we haven't done what Jimmy told us", so obviously, that's him off the hook...

I still have the feeling..or at least the hope, that Jimmy is taking the long term view and treating this early season as a precursor to the real work, which is the eights so, after busting a gut in training for six months, he'll cut it down and leave some energy for the match on the weekend and then we'll blow them all away. Well, that's the idea...
