This is one fixture which has often gone 'against the grain', with an unexpected winner; either way round.
I always feel we're in with a chance at Headingley, even more so than at Odsal [a feeling I can't fathom, to be honest, but there it is so I'm far from devoid of hope.

Thats because Fax havent been in the top flight for quite a while now and the majority of fans that sing "we all h8 leeds sc*m" is the younger generation that have only really experienced leeds derbies, leeds now does seem bigger as its grown over the years.

Back then rivallry with Fax was far greater than it was with Leeds (although beating them in the CC Semi finals was a treat - especially Brian Mac smacking 3 leeds players LOL)

Changed days indeed. At one time this was an eagerly anticipated match, and now we can afford to put out a load of youngsters. I personally would have loved to have seen a full toe to toe scrap, but for once, can understand BMD's tactics.

Meh. Mac is only playing the reserves as he recognises the futility of any team he could put out trying to beat us. He rightly is saving his powder for games where they have at least a chance.

For Leeds fans of my generation Cas was always the bigger derby through the 80s and early 90s. Older fans would say Hunslet, younger Bradford.

So I suppose we'll both have our old derbies back next season...

I don't begrudge the weakened squad Leeds can pick, we are where we are and they can pick and choose whom they like. Plus, a lot of the old guard really, [ireally[/i need to win the Challenge Cup. I'm even beginning to feel a little bit sorry for them now.

Great win. Think worst thing that happened to us was wins against Catalans and wire. Without those FC would have gone a lot earlier and we might have stayed up.
At least were going out on a high and go into next season with a winning attitude.

Pleased to see us showing some improvements under Lowes. Can't help feeling somewhat hollow though, this season is done and dusted in my mind to be honest. Roll on 2015, the end can't come soon enough for me now. Sorry if that seems pessimistic but it feels a little like winning a friendly to me!
