What, like beating Leeds and Saints? If the article is to be worthwhile, maybe it should reference the failure of these wins, eye-catching as they were, to signficantly boost the gate at the next home game. The whole article is a bit of a humdrum run-through of the bleeding obvious, isn't it?

Can we afford to do this? I suspect not. I see that City's much lauded cheap season ticket scheme still resulted in their chairman having to pump £1m of his own money into the club.

Oh, and I am pretty sure Dave Craven would be happy to see Bulls turn this round and even stuff Leeds in the Grand Final. More people would be reading his copy for a start.

I was not there obviously, im far too young, (:winkicon_smile.gifbut having just read Trevor's biography - it all sound far too familiar:
Club has had several years of success and great crowds.
Big name players leave club to be replaced by not quite so good players.
Results on the pitch get worse.
Fans stop coming so attendances dwindle.
Less income=less money for player recruitment.
Results get worse, attendance dwindle.
And so on.

This scenario is applicable now really.

Quite right the local press should be blinkered and biased. This is trash I'm not reading T&A articles any more.

Not entirely unexpected though. Casual supporters tend not to believe in false dawns and are more likely to be impressed by a sustained run of consistent performances rather than the odd shock victory against teams having an off day.

I'd expect that the crowds would have been much higher if the Bulls scorelines had been the exact reverse of what they actually were ie narrow losses to Leeds & St Helens, a narrow defeat in the south of France, one disappointing defeat at Murrayfield but offset by wins in most of the matches that we'd expect to win including a couple of very convincing victories. We'd still only be 6th but handily placed and at least demonstraing a platform on which to build.

Can't argue with that article at all.

The main difference between now and the early sixties is the fact that the club closed because of indifference, and the fact that no one cared. I still recall standing on the terrace with about 300 cold and lonely souls as once again we watched a non performing team at the final game of the old Northern.
At least Dave Craven's article makes one realise the club is going downhill, and a string of dreadful performances will not attract anyone. How a team can be world beaters one week, and the next a side that could be beaten by a lower league side I'd never imagine.
I would like to see one or two of the young sters have games, at least it may show that we do have some talent in the wings.

I would offer my services to the T&A but somehow I feel my insight is too penetrating and too close to the mark - too much to swallow for your average pundit.

I was actually hoping somebody mentioned a "ten tonne truck" so that I could have used my Solomona gag.

Maybe the club need to do something to help the atmosphere, if that gets better the players may just feel we're backing them and actually start to beat a few more teams. We beat a few more teams and maybe more people come.

At Edinburgh they gave out noise sticks and some sort of clappers, surely there cheap enough to do and would be a great hit with the kids and a few others. Brand them to the club and give them away for free maybe or sell them at a nominal level or give them away to the people who buy golden gamble tickets.

Improving is a two way thing i guess and it would be nice to see the club do something, didn't some fans come with flags to us earlier this season?
